I would've guessed Clifton, as well. But apparently not. The other two already said they're not retiring. Looks like pretty much everyone will be back next year.

There are going to be some big names on the street after Packers TC.

Woodson already said he isn't retiring too after the game. So thats two down.

Clifton played at a high level this season. No reason to think he would step down.

I feel like James Jones is on his way out. The key drops in big games coupled with the emergence of Jordy Nelson and Jermichael Finley have paved the way for him to escape. Look for him to sign for a big pay day to be a legit #2 receiver in a WR-needy city (Detroit, San Francisco, Carolina) this offseason.

If Jones leaves, Driver will probably be more likely to come back.

Peter King said that when he saw Donald Driver in the locker room after the game he had a feeling that Driver is going to retire...

...which means that Driver will be back. I'd give him one more year.

Woodson can play at least two or three more years. Clifton is most likely to retire, but only if he gets injured in training camp.

I made a thread about this a couple weeks ago....anyway,

I think it would be Clifton, but I'm not sure he WILL retire. He has been playing great recently. But I'm not sure those knees will hold up another whole year (didn't we say that last year, though?).

Also I believe Tauscher will retire.

I don't think Driver or Woodson will, especially considering that they didn't get to finish the big game.

And the fact that the Packers have a great chance of repeating next year would probably help them decide to come back. As Aaron Rodgers said, we are reloading next year with the best TE in the NFL and the other IR players.

I don't think Clifton will retire. He made it all the way through 19 weeks and helped largely to neutralize the Steelers' defensive line. I think he'll convince himself he's got at least another year in the tank and I'm almost positive he'll be in training camp.

I think Woodson will be around longer than any of them..As long as he stays healthy.

Woodson, Clifton, Driver?

All three have played, sacrificed and gave everything they have had to hoist that Lombardi.

I would list it as such.

1. Driver - Goes out on top, see how one of his friends stayed a bit too long, and has nothing to prove to anyone.

2. Clifton - Dude has knees that have got to agonize him weekly.

3. Woodson - Guy lives for this game, it flows deep inside him. I can't see him walking away yet.

I absolutely love and dislike then love again this thread question. It makes me think how much I appreciate everyone of those three... Then it makes me think about "The Draft" (Even though I am not worried about LT.)

What I dislike about it is... I can not add a damn thing.

It is a perfect assessment of all three.

Then... Just at the end of reading it.. I love it again thinking about all three of them wearing their ring for the rest of their lives.

I selfishly hope DD doesn't retire. I'm not ready for him to go. I know he has been struggling with his quad injury, but hopefully he'll heal up well in the offseason. I think he gives it one more year though his role will probably be diminished.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
