1. The Steelers D originated with Dom Capers. He probably knows their plays better than anyone else. They run a very similar D to ours, and that will be huge.

LeBeau and Capers formulated it together. It was LeBeau that mentored Capers, from what I've read.

I always thought it was the other way around. Capers started Blitzburg when he became DC of the Steelers in 92. LeBeau was on Dom's staff but as a secondary coach. After Capers left to coach the Panthers, he was promoted to DC.

You are right. I was looking it up to confirm because I wasn't sure.

Dom Capers -Steelers DC - 1992 - 1994

Dick LeBeau - Steelers DB Coach - 1992 - 1994
Then he went to the Bengals and Bills, then back to Steelers as DC in 2004 to currently.

Both coordinators will give insights to their offenses in how to beat the zone scheme concept. I think it is obvious that if you go across the middle, you can gash your opponent. The key is to anticipate the blitz, which Aaron Rodgers does very well by the way. Ben Roethlisberger does a good job of it too, but not as good as Rodgers does. The game is indoors, which is a plus for the Green Bay passing attack. Honestly, I feel better about this matchup than the almost New York Jets contest. I think the Jets' coverage would have given the Packers' WRs fits. Offensively, I think GB is the one team that can score on the Steelers. Rather, they are among a handful of teams. Turn it around and the Steelers are among the teams that have the ability to score on the Packers in my view. Both teams might get into the mid to high 20s.

God I hate the Steelers, they have lady luck on their side. Whenever they need a play, they ALWAYS seem to get it. Every close game, some how they seem to win. Big Ben to a no body receiver. Some random defensive player makes a big turnover. I hope the game is not close at the end because I swear God is a Steelers fan.

At least that means that it won't be another ugly game like the Bears game was, with a ton of defense and hardly any offense.

I would say that Raji giving us a pick six was a random defensive player making a big turnover. Thats what good teams do to win. Especially if it happens often. It's not luck, it's talent, and it could very well happen in two weeks for either or both teams.

The Steelers just know how to win.

And I don't know if you realize this because we pretty much always have a lead (and if not, we're only down 7... and Aaron hasn't won us a game in the end that often)... but you pretty much just described our team too.

If Jordy Nelson and James Jones haven't had the big games they've had, we wouldn't have our WR's heavily touted by the media.

beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.

Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.

beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
