I just finished watching the Jets game. I was pretty impressed by Favre.
14/19, 167 Yards, 1 TD, 0 INT's and 8.8 Avg.
Pretty solid day. I know at first glance he was playing "game manager". But I don't think he played like that. He took a bunch of risky passes (one was just HORRIBLE and should have been an INT 100%). I think he just took what the defence was giving him and kept handing it off at key junctures because T Jones was running all over them. I don't really the Jets playcalling (i.e. throwing against the Chiefs) but they had an excellent game plan and executed perfectly.
Huge matchup against the Pats and Titans coming up. I guess now we will see how good the Jets really are. But if they can go 1-1, they will happy I think.
But back to Favre, he looked like he fit into the Offense today and looked comfortable back there. He was able to anticipate the pressure and step up and make quick decisions. Also, I saw a couple of Jets games last year and the team just looked dead. Favre brings a lot of energy. It was a lot of fun to watch him running on to the field jumping on the defensive players after the fumble for a TD, etc.
Winning will do that but I feel like he was really "Favre" today in that boy-ish enthusiam about the game kind of way. Good for him, its fun to watch him play.
