I was just thinking....who do you guys think would retire if we were to win the Superbowl?

I can really only think of one. Chad Clifton. I see him retiring if we win it all.

There are a few prospects like Charles Woodson and Donald Driver out there, but I don't see either of those two retiring, especially considering that they both have plenty left in the tank.

I just thought it would spark an interesting discussion.

Mark Tauscher I think

I honestly don't think anyone will minus Clifton.

edit - Tauscher isn't even on the active roster anyway, and the main reason for his retirement would stem more because of not being able to stay on the playing field if anything. But out of absolutely anyone on the roster, I would say the two old lineman would be a possibility.

Woodson, Driver? Eh, I hope they stay around for at least three more years.

I'm not saying that they will, just that they potentially could go out on top.

I realize that. It's more my opinion there. Will they? Doubtful. Between the two I could see Driver retiring if anything. I think Woodson has his eyes set on more than one championship.

Woodson and Driver will not retire. They have too much football left in them.

Chad Clifton would be possibly the ideal candidate and really the only one. Mark Tauscher will not be back with the team and I think he will probably retire regardless of what happens.

Driver won't retire. He's about 30 yards off the Packers all time regular season receiving record.

Woodson is only just past his peak.

None of them should quit if they have any sense. We have the deepest roster in the NFL. Imagine adding Finley, Grant, Neal, Burnett, Chillar, Jones etc plus a rookie class to a Superbowl winning roster that is one of the youngest in the league.

They would be crazy.

Think we're a bit spoiled by this team?

The offensive line has been good. Cliffy's been shutting down some premier rushers in Peppers and Abraham. I think we'd miss him. We'd miss him, dearly. I can tell you this much, Bulaga, during his entire career, might not get above Clifton's level of pass protection that he's shown this year.

Do I think Clifton was a Pro Bowler? Maybe not. He certainly didn't make it in on run blocking and there were some players on about the same level in pass protection in the NFC.

He's playing at a very high level this year, though. If he could keep this up for one more year, it'd be very much worth the investment. Bulaga can wait another year.

I'd love to see the PFF ranking on Clifton.

PS. Even the elite LTs get beaten from time to time, just like shut down corners can't completely shut someone down.
