I don't know who said it, but a few weeks ago it was stated that Mike McCarthy has "lost the edge".
I didn't agree with it at the time, but I sure am thinking so now. Not so much in this game, but in general. This team leads the NFL in penalties, and at this point in the season, it comes down to coaching.
After a loss, the same things come from Mike McCarthy - "didn't keep the pads low enough", "minimize mistakes", etc etc. Where's the action? Where's the attitude to change things?
I expect more from a Mike McCarthy coached team, and I'm surprised we haven't seen it yet.
Overall against the Vikings, this was a game that should have been won. But penalties, a piss-poor line (both lines) and a punter who should be replaced by a Rockette lost this game. And that's just messed up right there.
