I'd take him for a 5th rounder for the story alone, but that's why I'm not a GM

Drafting him wouldn't hurt the packers so I hope they get him in the 4th or 5th before another team snaps him from the board.

It would be cool to see another Matthews brother in Green Bay. The ILB position is crowded right now, but I could picture him as a backup and special teams demon. I wonder if he has the tools to play OLB. I was impressed by what little I saw of him in college.

It would nice to see it work. Not a bad player, decent athlete, not that big for an ILB. If he was there in the 4th or 5th take him and have him bring some of the Nike reps with him to live'in our uni's the Oregon way.

I wonder how quick he is. I think he has the mentality to play safety. At 6-2 235 he certainly has the size. I wonder if they padded his numbers (height/weight) at Oregon?

If he has the same work ethic of his brother and family.. then I figure he would be a worth while pick and you will find a place for him.. even if it is only special teams.. my guess is that he will work his way onto the field with his "bloodlines" and Clay there to push.

You take football players and they will find there way onto the field.. much like Jim Leonhard. Football players find a way to help a football team.

Talent only takes you so far.

He is definitely a member of the Matthews family. His season this year compared to last year was better. He seems like he is only getting better. I wouldn't mind us taking him in the 4th-5th. I just don't want to reach for the guy, which I'm afraid we might have to because he is a member of the Matthew's family. We saw how high Eli went since he was a Manning. You can't tell me he was going to be number 1 overall if his last name was Jones. Matthews is becoming a lot like Manning. I rank the 5 families like this:

Corleone's
Manning's
Matthew's(If Casey becomes anything like Clay they jump the Mannings)
Sharpe's
Tattaglia's

I'm not an Eli fan, but he did lead his team to a Super Bowl win over the undefeated Pats, whiney little bitch who throws wobbly ducks or not. Giants fans are happy with the pick.

If we overdraft Casey Matthews, and then win a Super Bowl with him, I won't bitch too hard.

I wouldn't worry about Ted drafting Casey just because he is a Matthews. Ted is about as cold-blooded and practical as they come.
