"Someone put in a good word with TT...get me out to GB " - Casey Matthews

I think it is a great idea considering the current depth at both LB spots. He's a bit small right now, but the success of the Matthews' family playing linebacker is noted.

I hope it happens. I would love to see the 2 Matthews brothers on the same team. But he wouldn't start unless he can translate to ROLB.

Not right away. But lots of things happen over the course of a few years, just look at how Bishop moved up the chain and into the starting role as an example.

I love the Idea of the two Matthews brothers playing on the same team, although I do wonder what would happen if Casey we're to not pan out. Plus ILB is a position we are pretty set at right now. But I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't be ecstatic if he was drafted by the packers.

My problem with the notion that we're set is that Barnett has become a liability due to injury. He is solid when he plays but he has been hurt pretty frequently the past few years and is aging. Chillar's performance pre-injury was also pretty poor, especially in what was supposed to be his strong suit which was coverage. I don't love the idea of Matthews, but he could be a good guy to draft and work into the lineup over a few years.

Do you think Barnett would even be a starter next year? I think Bishop is a must start to me, the question is who would start between Hawk and Barnett? I do agree with you're take on Chillar. He's our so called pass "specialist" but constantly gets beat. So I guess Matthews could have a place on this team, but I still don't think its a position of need. Does anyone know what round he's projected to go in? I know its early but..

I've read 4th to 5th round mostly, but that could change after his BCS performance and good combine results. His name alone and the fact that his entire family has succeeded at his position probably puts him at an advantage over similarly skilled peers.

All it takes is another Barnett injury and you're stuck with two quality backers and not much behind it. Chillar did not seem too useful this season and the other replacements have not gotten a chance to show much. Sticking Casey behind those guys for a bit, letting him play well on special teams and in some Psycho packages would be a solid way to use him to start, in my opinion.
