Well, I have to say that today was the first day that I thought, "It might be nice to have Marshawn Lynch right now." He was awesome for the Seahawks today. I was impressed with him even before that long TD run.

I still like Ted's approach of not overpaying to get players, but the fans who wanted him to get Lynch are looking a bit smarter now.

He wasn't worth overspending for was my thinking, but maybe that was wrong. Maybe he was worth throwing another round higher of a pick at him. That big run, that's special, it takes great balance and resilience to accomplish that.

I was hoping for Lynch, but to be fair, I've kind of wanted anyone other than Brandon Jackson carrying the rock primarily for us.

Those who wanted Lynch, hats off for sure.

I also think Ted made the right decision in the long run. Overpaying for that "one last piece" more often than not backfires (see Moss, Randy). Plus, Lynch is such a goofball off the field that you never know what the off season will bring.

But today Lynch showed that he can still be a difference-maker, at least for one game.

None of us could possibly know what kind of an atmosphere/attitude Lynch would have brought to the room under the bleachers.

However... I trust Ted with every fiber of my being so I am not going to think back. Good thread though.

One good run all season and going to say how great he is?

Your aware Jackson had a LONGER run this season than Lynch has?

a 4th rounder and player is what Ted offered, Seattle just a 4th

So tell Buffalo to suck it since they didnt want 2 players

FYI, Donald Driver had a nicer run than M Lynch's. Watch both plays again.

Very true, it was only one great run. But it was in the playoffs, when his team needed it the most and it helped his team win the game.

Great players do just that. I am not saying he's a great player, I think he's an above average back.

If Lynch gave that kind of effort every play, he's be a 1,500 yard back I bet.

Well he showed the potential he had today, but honestly the guy has sucked all year long. I'm still glad we didn't offer any more than we did. One good game, regardless of when it was, does not redeem his otherwise forgettable season.

No need to sound so bitter. I still think Ted played the situation right. I just thought that, since I pointed out during the season how mediocre Lynch's stats were, it's only fair to acknowledge his great performance against the Saints.

And if you watched the game, you should know that it was more than just "one good run." He ran for tough yards all game long. I was actually going to make this post even before that long TD run.

I'm beginning to wonder if it's been so long now since the Packers were clutch that fans are forgetting how important it is to make big plays when it matters most. It's like we think it's just a matter of luck. Sadly, the Packers have mostly been a stats team since the Super Bowl years. Let's hope that changes, starting today.

We have a playoff game in 7 hours and we have people that feel the need to discuss a player we DONT have?

I am not bitter I am shocked people are bringing this up after "one good game"

Where were these so called experts on Lynch during the season?

Lynch for the season he had 3.7 ypc a long of 39 yards and 6 td...Receiving 145 yards and no TD...

His tds came at 1st ,2nd and 3 and goal..And his one good game (3 tds) was vs the worse team in the league, Carolina..18 atts at goaline, 5 tds

Now go look at Jax, he only had 4 tds total but how many times at goal line did they give it to him? he only had 14 att at goaline and got 3 tds

So again tell me why Lynch IS BETTER after only one game when he had 16 other games to prove it?

It's already been mentioned that Lynch had a mediocre regular season. But the reason people wanted him was because they thought he could be a difference-maker. And that's what he was against the Saints. This one performance does not make up for his mediocre season, but it is a very big "plus" in the plus column for him. I just thought I should acknowledge that. I wasn't trying to get into a heated discussion with anyone.

As dramatic as Marshawn Lynch's 67-yard run was (heaven knows I was jumping up and down and screaming my head off in the hotel room), it seems to me that James Starks had a bigger overall role in the Packers' playoff win than Marshawn Lynch had in the Seahawks' win, and therefore I would say that to this point, Ted Thompson has been vindicated. How these decisions pan out in the long term will be interesting to watch.

These were all from ESPN Seahawks message board BEFORE the playoffs, and one I think is from the week before their last game

RB Mark Ingram would be nice, let's face it Lynch and Forsett aren't getting the job done.

think about it, if you had a running back that is fast and can get the ball out on the flat and create his own plays, we would have alot more offensive play calling and can do a variety of things. we do not have this option with lynch and forsett.

this team has progressively gotten worse since the Lynch acquisition.

Just had to mention that SOME Seattle fans didnt think Lynch was good either, which tells me they watch them games and see more than we do
