I found an interresting question on our german message board and I wanted to share it. No question, I didn't have any idea, maybe some of you US folks know it. It took one hour for the solution, so time to hurry up 😃 No google, guys ;)

Which team drafted 2 Hall of Fame Quarterbacks in one season?

Well, the NYGiants had both Tittle and Emlen Tunnell...but that was before my time, so i don't know if they were drafees or not.

good try, wade, +1 for that. both played for the giants, you're right (thank you, google 😃 ), it's still not the correct answer, though.

Gee. I couldn't even find an answer by going to the HOF website.

Hmm.

i cheated on the HOF site myself, Wade and no luck.

German didn't specify the NFL...does the CFL have a hall of fame?

I was also thinking some sort of weird technicality involving the '83/84 drafts with Moon, Elway, Kelley, or Steve Young since some were drafted by the UFL, I think (Moon and Kelley???) and others by the CFL (moon as well?!?), plus Elway was 'drafted' by 2 NFL teams.

I've looked through the entire list of Hall of Fame quarterbacks, and I don't see it.

Bobby Layne and Y.A. Tittle both began their careers in 1948 with the Baltimore Colts, which at that time was an AAFC team, I think.

2 guesses:

Chicago Bears about 1948 Blanda and Layne

Decatur Staleys 1920 Driscoll and Conzelman

wow, nsd, if you can bring up a link, that tittle was drafted by the colts in 1948, that would give us 2 solutions to the question. :cyclopsani: it's not my answer, but if it's correct, you'll get 2 +1s from me.

@musscy

not my answer, too, but i'll check it before turning you down, nsd opened my eyes 😃

Los Angeles Express. Dan Marino and Steve Young either signed with or were drafted by them.

According to the Hall of Fame website's list of inductees :

Bobby Layne was drafted in 1948 by the Chicago Bears and also drafted by the Baltimore Colts (AAFC).

Y.A. Tittle was drafted in 1948 by the Detroit Lions but started his career with the Baltimore Colts (AAFC). When Colts disbanded after 1950 season, the players were made eligible for draft along with college seniors. Tittle was the No. 1 choice - 3rd overall - of 49ers in 1951.

tittle was drafted by the lions, so unfortunately no +1s to nsd 😃 i'll check musscys answers, as they are not the same with mine. ;)

edit: nsd was the quicker guy, he's younger, so don't offend me 😃

mine is a stretch german...according to wikipedia (obviously debatably accurate) Marino signed with the LA Express in '83 and it was around that time that they signed Young to a hefty contract.

I don't want to fabricate an answer, though. I was hoping to respond to what you had in mind.

ok, i don't want to let you wait.

the answer is:

click me

the mlb kansas city royals picked dan marino in the 4th and john elway in the 18th round. good scouting for a franchise that used to be a baseball team 😃
