New Years is one of my favorite holidays. It's an excuse to party, nothing more. Plus, most memorable kiss I ever had was on New Years. I was at a Goth club and had a thing for this one cute chick for years. I kept moving state to state so never had a chance to really hook up with her.

Well, she was there too and I remember U2's New Years Day came on and I frantically went looking for her (it was very crowded). Found her and finally after 4 years kissed her.

Then I moved to another state again and that was that. But I'll never forget that moment.

As for wishing others a Happy New Years, it's a good luck thing. We hope the people we like do well for themselves in the upcoming year.

Totally.

About every single person in the area here goes to the local club on new years. It's horribly overcrowded, but I have the best time every single year.

I nearly had what you had. But then without the 4 years. Or the kiss. So, really, nothing happened. Put a dampener on things a bit. But hey, it's all good fun when you've been drinking a bit, anyway.

Rock - hope you had one of your famous hugs out of it at least.

A little hot tip, you'd be surprised how many girls wanted you to kiss them all these years. You're drinking, she's drinking. Seriously amigo, there's a lot more upside than downside.

Five reasons why I don't usually like New Years:
1. I hate crowds.
2. I hate amateur drinkers.
3. I hate cold weather.
4. I hate having to be around a that many obnoxious and boring males under the influence of their amateur drinking.
4. I've gone home alone too many times, and its one of those days when going home alone sucks more than usual.

Two reasons I like this one (though I still had no temptation to go out last night):
1. For some reason I got just enough done in what I call "the reinvention" that, even though 2010 was pretty much a piece of shit year, I'm confident that the end of 2011 will show distint improvement.
2. I don't have to teach, or even go into the office more than a couple times, all January.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Good list.. I'd get rid of #1, #3 and #4.. Well, the second #4 since you have two of them. And #3 really isn't a New Years thing, just a climate thing.. Move your ass south of Iowa (speaking of which, wife and I are going to Des Moines next weekend for a leadership conference).

I've always hated New Years even in my party days because of the amateurs. It's one of two times a year they come out in drones and act retarded and use the weak ass excuse of 'I was drunk, it's ok'. No, you were retarded.. Because of your retarded decision making, which was further handicapped by the booze.

To me, New Years was just another day but with a numerical change of the last 1-2 digits of the yearly date.

2010 was the year of the recovery if I had to put any words to it. I wouldn't say it was shitty, but wasn't the best.

I'll put 2010 to bed now, and I'll wish 9 months of 2011 away as well. Mia's done with chemo in September. New Year's Eve really isn't my thing either. Mrs. D always gets pissed cause I never wanted to go out. Lately we go to house parties but there's just so much you have in common with her friends husbands.

Anyway, here's to 2011.

I haven't went out on New Year's eve in years.. actually the past three.. I haven't even been awake at Midnight.. this year.. fell asleep around 10 and woke up after 1.. I don't get excited about the chime of the clock itself.

For me.. it is more of a time of reflection, assessing the present and plotting out the new year with goals, budget and hopes. It is about the most hopeful time of the year for me.. clean slate so to speak.

That's one reason I like New Years as well - the clean slate. Each year, a different goal or goals. We achieved our goal in 2010, although it still wasn't a good year. I quit 2 jobs last year and both sucked. Plus, I can't tell you how many recommendations I had to write for friends who were in between jobs. 2010's economy was better than 2009's, but that's not saying much at all.

dfosterf (18h) : I think it would be great to have someone like Tom Grossi or Andy Herman on the Board of Directors so he/they could inform us
dfosterf (18h) : Fair enough, WPR. Thing is, I have been a long time advocate to at least have some inkling of the dynamics within the board.
wpr (26-Jun) : 1st world owners/stockholders problems dfosterf.
Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot
dfosterf (25-Jun) : It also says he is subject to another ballot in 2028. I recall nothing of this nature with Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy is on my ballot subject to me penciling him in as a no.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : I thought it used to be we voted for the whatever they called the 45, and then they voted for the seven, and then they voted for Mark Murphy
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Because I was too lazy to change my address, I haven't voted fot years until this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
Zero2Cool (25-Jun) : Maybe wicked wind chill made it worse?
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : And then he signs with Cleveland in the offseason
Mucky Tundra (25-Jun) : @SharpFootball WR Diontae Johnson just admitted he refused to enter a game in 41° weather last year in Baltimore because he felt “ice cold”
Zero2Cool (24-Jun) : Yawn. Rodgers says he is "pretty sure" this be final season.
Zero2Cool (23-Jun) : PFT claims Packers are having extension talks with Zach Tom, Quay Walker.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jun) : GB-Minnesota 2004 Wild Card game popped up on my YouTube page....UGH
beast (20-Jun) : Hmm 🤔 re-signing Walker before Tom? Sounds highly questionable to me.
Mucky Tundra (19-Jun) : One person on Twitter=cannon law
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : Well, to ONE person on Tweeter
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : According to Tweeter
Zero2Cool (19-Jun) : Packers are working on extension for LT Walker they hope to have done before camp

dfosterf (18-Jun) : Or Lions
dfosterf (18-Jun) : Beats the hell out of a Vikings signing
Zero2Cool (18-Jun) : Baltimore Ravens now have signed former Packers CB Jaire Alexander.
dfosterf (14-Jun) : TWO magnificent strikes for touchdowns. Lose the pennstate semigeezer non nfl backup
dfosterf (14-Jun) : There was minicamp Thursday. My man Taylor Engersma threw
dfosterf (11-Jun) : There will be a mini camp practice Thursday.
Zero2Cool (11-Jun) : He's been sporting a ring for a while now. It's probably Madonna.
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : We only do the tea before whoopee, it relaxes me.
wpr (10-Jun) : That's awesome Martha.
Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : How's the ayahuasca tea he makes, Martha?
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : Turns out he like older women
Martha Careful (10-Jun) : I wasn't supposed to say anything, but yes the word is out and we are happy 😂😂😂
Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : I might be late on this but Aaron Rodgers is now married
Mucky Tundra (10-Jun) : Well he can always ask his brother for pointers
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : Bo Melton taking some reps at CB as well as WR
Zero2Cool (10-Jun) : key transactions coming today at 3pm that will consume more cap in 2025
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Jaire played in just 34 of a possible 68 games since the start of the 2021 season
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : reported, but not expected to practice
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : Jenkins has REPORTED for mandatory camp
Zero2Cool (9-Jun) : I really thought he'd play for Packers.
buckeyepackfan (9-Jun) : Packers releasing Jaire Alexander.
