Shania Twain Engaged to Former Husband of Woman Who Broke Up Her Marriage, Report Says

The Canadian native was left heartbroken in May 2008 when her husband of 14 years, Robert "Mutt" Lange, ran off with Thiebaud's wife.

The "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" singer found solace in Thiebaud's arms and the couple confirmed their romance in August 2009. Thiebaud presented Twain with a three carat diamond solitaire engagement ring "a couple months" ago, a source told the celebrity magazine.

"We leaned on one another through the ups and downs, taking turns holding each other up. We've become stronger and closer through it all," Twain wrote of Thiebaud, 40, on her website in 2009.

The Grammy Award-winning singer, 45, has a nine-year-old son with her former husband. Her fiance -- an executive at Nestle -- has a 10-year-old daughter from his previous marriage.

There was an interview years back that Shania said she only will have sex if it's to conceive a child. And said her husband was very understanding of it. I figured since he was nearly 20 years older than him, it was one thing he didn't have to worry about disappointing her with.

I didn't even know they had split.

I don't think Shania Twain has ever said she'd only have sex to conceive. She has said she practices Sant Mat, a religion that proscribes premarital sex (among other things).

I don't know of any religion that promotes only having sex to conceive.

I've found rumors about such an interview online, but I haven't been able to find any text of such an interview. Where and when did you hear it, and where's the link? 😛

I can only find two people asking rhetorical questions about something like that on forums, and all the posts are old.

I'm not saying she didn't say it, but I have to think that if she weren't being sarcastic or satirical, certainly such a statement would have been picked up in the media.

The statement came up after a mentioning about her being molested as a child; something to that effect. I don't recall which. I just remember being shocked and then her saying her husband respects what happened to her and is accepts having sex for the purpose of having kids.

If it helps your search, she was in her house, and she was sitting on a beige couch, her hair was down and I'm not POSITIVE, but I think she was in sweats or just something comfortable. She commented on not having make up on early in the episode. I'm sure that narrows it down if you find a collection of her interviews if its so critical to not believe what I said.
