Running the damn ball is about the "want" to.. and from Mike McCarthy down.. they haven't wanted to, with exception of ....

Grant is a very decisive runner. He reads and reacts well, which is what you need to do in the zone scheme. You cannot hesitate. Jackson hesitates. It is night and day to be frank. You can't put this much on McCarthy. It's easy to blame the coach, when things aren't going well, but losing Grant has proven to be bigger than we all thought.

With that said, the running game has not been the reason for the losses. There is never one sole reason. So on one hand, we're overstating the running game's factor in the Green Bay record, but on the other hand, we've overrated a player and underrated another. That's what I see going on right now.

Here we go, I watch the games and Its not that I hate GB or want them to lose but...

I just feel B-Jack is not a feature back. The more carries you give him the more yards you will lose. He does well in open space (checkdowns and screens), has some swivel to his hips, but from the rb position, the guy just can not find a hole.

I compare him to Tony Fisher, right now I think James Starks is a better RB than B-Jack.

B-Jack does not get the carries b/c he does not produce IMO.

Some say that Brandon Jackson was a bust, I disagree. I will say it was a reach to get him in the 2nd round. He's a very good blitz pickup back and very good at receiving the ball out of the backfield and when he's in open space he somehow squirms through for an extra few years that others wouldn't have.

He is not a featured back. He can not handle carrying the ball 20+ times game in game out.

I think James Starks has more of a chance at succeeding as a featured back than Brandon Jackson.

I agree. BJack is not a feature back. And this OLine can't block worth a damn, which doesn't help.

Porky and Dhpackr +1 to both of you for great posts.

I see what you're saying about opportunities with Grant PFWT, and running backs get better as the game progresses, etc...but although repeatedly punching a cinder wall may eventually crack it, it doesn't make it an efficient or effective way to bring down a wall.

Bjack has some value to the team as others already mentioned in this thread, but not as a feature back. In Starks limited opportunities it was fairly obvious that regardless of stats, Starks was a more talented RB / Jackson isn't a very good every-down, between the tackles runner.

I still haven't forgiven Mike McCarthy for putting Rodgers in a five-wide, empty backfield set immediately after getting clocked. Give the man a chance to get his feet under him, for godsake.

Right or wrong, it's not the first time a player comes up a little gimpy after a play, and when you have a 10 second window to get a play in, I'm willing to bet he was more concerned about how to exploit the defense than if Rodgers was able to complete the play, again, considering he and others have limped to the huddle before.

I'm not necessarily excusing M M as much as I'm saying it's easy to criticize esp. as we know the severity of his condition after-the-fact.

Finland.. I will counter and say it isn't there because Mike McCarthy and staff haven't demanded it be there.. I stand by the it is a "want" to issue and not a can't issue.

I will bet my signature for the remainder of the year that we run the ball for more than a 100 tomorrow night... first to take it can alter my attire here for the remainder of the season.

But be prepared to don something pathetic.. because the Packers will eclipse that mark and then some.

Why.. because they figured out that Rodgers and the passing game can't be relied on alone.. and they will have focus on the this week and will want to... need to run it. And we will.

My point was proved correct.. we ran the ball very effectively, scored 27 points, controlled the clock and the game.. we played an absolute gem offensively save the one pick.

A killer of a turnover, paired with the short kick that blew up in our faces before half time.

Eliminate those two gaffs and we dominated this game.

If we could have corralled one or two of those picks we had in our hands.. damn.

Anyway.. we pounded the rock on them, setup the passing game in which Flynn looked like a seasoned veteran backup and we played a very solid game.

We can run the ball when we want to run the damn ball.

Play like this the next two weeks.. we will handle our own end of the deal.

It was obvious last night that a large element of sheer luck has played into Brady's no-interception streak.

that is b/c Starks > Jackson

you have B-Jack Be your feature back against NE and give him 25 carries he'll finish with negative yards. he is that bad at rb.
