At least you made me laugh... real good too! You are absolutely getting a plus one from me. My small-emergency-backup dog is going to meet his maker after 16 years of faithful dog-service tomorrow at 1 PM. I had formerly bailed on the taking of him to the vet thing, but have been re-introduced into the kill my dog mix by my darling wife and my gutless (even more gutless than me) non=committed son. Benny has been barking in pain this whole day. I have tried to comfort him in any way, shape, or form I could come up with. I am sad, and I'm a bit drunk, and I am sure I am going to cry. I have promised my wife that I will not get so drunk that I will blame her for making the appointment... I'm not so sure I can honor that...

That totally sucks. This happend to my dog a year ago. She was 16 and so was I, had her since I was 4-5 years old. Because of lack of better words, good luck out there.

Do you know that it isn't something that can get fixed? Do you know for sure that it is getting put down?

I consider you a friend, and am glad you said something about it. I know nothing will make it easier, but knowing you arn't alone can help.
Don't feel bad about telling us.
I would do the same thing.

No need to apologize my Cheesehead/Marine amigo. It's a difficult thing to deal with.
Can't be tough all the time...
You're kinda like an Iron Marshmallow... and that is a good thing! :thumbleft:

Losing a pet is tough though....I know if anything happened to Cheesey, I'd be real upset. ::wink:

That is quite nice. Dog has been done. It's been sentimental value and the power of my persuasion (and lack of courage) that has kept him alive to this point. My wife habla's the shit I have been through and gives me a complete pass on pretty much everything, but my boy can no longer hang. He may rally, but he has about 18 hours to do it. I am not trying to hijack this thread, but I do want to say thanks to Cheese and some of the other folks... I already knew you would habla... again, sorry... who don't dig dogs?

That was nice to see. DD showed he still has "it". That will keep defenses on their toes.
