A couple of typos in the original post.. just giving ya the business Zero. ;)

Anyway.. this should be a game where we hop on them early via the pass.. as Warhawk stated force T.Smith to try and beat us.. then start tinkering with play sets and combination's in live action to start shaping this team for playoff football.

Shorts yardage.. sets that they don't want to drop a lot of film on but get some reps down on live action.. see what guys like Starks can bring.. etc.

In others words.. I will be disappointed if we don't come out jacked.. and put the game away early.

I'm pumped. This will the first game (or show of any kind) I watch in HD. Got my mother the thing almost a month ago, but it took this long to get an appointment where I could be there the same time as the hookup guy.

Oh, yes. No way are the Packers allowed to lose.

31-0.

interesting to read...on cheeseheadtv.com...

Evidence is building that the Packers' recent history of close losses shouldn't be on the shoulders of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. "In nine of the Packers' 12 close losses since 2008, Rodgers and the offense drove for a touchdown or field goal to either tie the score or take the lead at some point in the fourth quarter -- but the Packers still lost. In the other three, the Packers were in position to kick a decisive field goal, but they missed or it was blocked," according to the Associated Press, and presumably Chris Jenkins.

No.. they can't fall on Rodgers.. but that doesn't mean we don't have work to do.. and he is part of the team that has struggled to close games out.

10 things to watch in Packers-49ers
By Tom Silverstein of the Journal Sentinel

Dec. 4, 2010 |(44) Comments

Green Bay -- Here are my 10 things to watch on Sunday

1. Capturing Troy: After filling in for injured Alex Smith Oct. 24, Smith has won three of his four starts. Smith has good scrambling ability, but the most he has rushed for in a game is 45 yards. He will look to throw whenever he can. Still, the Packers havent been very good at containing quarterbacks and may play a lot of zone so they always have an eye on Smith.

2. What could have been: The Packers had a chance to sign veteran running back Brian Westbrook during training camp, but they decided to pass because they were concerned about previous knee and head injuries. Westbrook had done next to nothing until last week when he rushed 23 times for 136 yards and a touchdown in place of injured Frank Gore. Hell start Sunday and well see if the Packers were wrong about him.

3. Welcome back: A pair with local connections were added to the 49ers roster this week: former Wisconsin safety Chris Maragos and former Packers running back DeShawn Wynn. Its unknown whether either will be active but with only Westbrook and Anthony Dixon around, it would seem Wynn would get a shot.

4. Run it if you can: The 49ers defense hasnt allowed a 100-yard rusher in the past 17 games. The Packers have had one 100-yard rushing performance all year (Brandon Jackson, 115 vs. Washington). Logic would tell you the Packers are going to have trouble running the ball Sunday and will need 30 carries to get 100 yards.

5. The great outdoors: Quarterback Aaron Rodgers doesnt have any trouble throwing the ball in the cold he threw for 383 yards vs. Pittsburgh last year in 30-degree temperature but hes only 4-3 in December outdoor games in cold-weather cities. The Packers have three four of those coming up starting Sunday.

6. Second chance: Packers special teams coach Shawn Slocum was adamant this week that he was not giving up on cornerback Sam Shields on kickoff returns. Shields made at least one bad decision on whether to return a kick last week, but also nearly broke one for a touchdown. Shields, who is averaging a healthy 26.3 yards per return, will be playing in cold-weather for the first time in his pro career. Keep an eye on how he fields the ball.

7. Hawk-eye: Dont be surprised if linebacker A.J. Hawk spends time covering dangerous tight end Vernon Davis on Sunday. Hawks position often requires that he defend the deep middle of the field and hes sure to be isolated on Davis from time to time. Hawk has been better in coverage this year, but this will be the ultimate test.

8. Clays day: Well know a lot more about how much linebacker Clay Matthews injury is bothering him on Sunday. Hell be going up against 49ers rookie right tackle Anthony Davis, who has given up seven sacks this year and is playing on a bad ankle. Right guard Chilo Rachal isnt much better and so Matthews and B.J. Raji could be running a lot of games on that side.

9. Turnover heaven: The Packers are plus-6 at home in turnover margin and after failing to get one last week against Atlanta, the pressure will be on them to get a few. Smith only has two interceptions in four starts and probably wont take a lot of chances. After losing one fumble in the first six games, the 49ers have lost four in the last five.

10. Field of dreams: Lambeau Field hasnt been played on since Nov. 7. If the field isnt in great condition then theres a problem. The grounds crew has been using enormous grow lights to try encourage growth in the latter months of Fall. The footing should be good given how long anyone has played on it.

dfosterf (18-Aug) : We do have good depth at running back imo. Still so frustrating. Bitching about it is a futile excercise, which I plan to do anyway.

Mucky Tundra (17-Aug) : Not a surprise; inevitable

dfosterf (13-Aug) : a lower back injury
dfosterf (13-Aug) : Doubs says he's "fine" after injury scare. Some reported it as z
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : With LVN that is; need to see what happens in the next practice
Mucky Tundra (13-Aug) : beast, reading about what happened, it sounded like one of those "two guys collide and are moving slow afterwards" type of deals
beast (12-Aug) : I believe Musgrave has been injured every single season since at least a Sophomore in highschool
packerfanoutwest (12-Aug) : Matt LaFleur: “Highly unlikely” Jordan Love plays more this preseason
dfosterf (12-Aug) : Doubs, Savion Williams, LVN, Musgrave all banged up to one degree or another, missing one here I forget
Zero2Cool (12-Aug) : RB Tyrion Davis-Price is signing with the Green Bay Packers.
Zero2Cool (12-Aug) : zero help, dominated. preseason
beast (12-Aug) : QB Jordan Love has surgery
beast (12-Aug) : Martha said Morgan had a lot of help, I didn't watch the OL so I can't say.
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Packers LT Jordan Morgan did not allow a single pressure across 23 pass-blocking snaps vs. Jets last night, per PFF
Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : With buckeye and the reasonable couple, we're currently sitting at 10
buckeyepackfan (10-Aug) : Just posted to re-up on our FFL.
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : If healthy after, then thats all I care. Well, no drops would be nice
wpr (10-Aug) : I made it through the 1st Q.
dfosterf (10-Aug) : Just gotta figure out how.
dfosterf (10-Aug) : Could have been a worse start, so there is that.
beast (10-Aug) : Yeah, someone tell the Packers football season has started, seems like they weren't ready for it
Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : Sooooooo many penalties
Mucky Tundra (10-Aug) : It may only be preseason, but this game is a trip to the dentist
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Packers do bad -- FREAK OUT!!!!!!
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Packers do good -- eh only preseason
dfosterf (10-Aug) : Well that half was fun
Zero2Cool (10-Aug) : Great, zayne is down

Mucky Tundra (9-Aug) : THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE PLAYING FOOTBALL TONIGHT!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!
Zero2Cool (9-Aug) : Woo-hoo
TheKanataThrilla (9-Aug) : NFL Network is broadcasting the game tonight, but not in Canada. Not sure why as no local television is showing the game.
beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
