That's a reason to work. Absolutely no reason to WANT to work harder, except to prove fans wrong, which possibly contributed to the injury in the first place - if he pushed himself too hard training.

It's silly that fans can boo a guy before they know anything about him and then be proud of being a Packers fan.

Well, I'm a fan and I haven't labeled him a bust. I have kidded about him extensively, but that isn't quite the same. I know, for example, that he is in the best shape of his career right now. He lost what, 16 lbs.? He does need to get back out there, we need some NFL starting football player caliber play out of him, some have said sooner rather than later, I say later has left the building, and sooner is here... last time I checked we have a pretty big game coming up against what I hear is a pretty good team. So help me lord, if Ted Thompson or Mike McCarthy come out tomorrow and say Justin is getting another surgery to help speed up his recovery (which is exactly what occurred last time) just prior to the anticipated re-activation of him...
well, I'll just have that much more time to come up with some more twinkie jokes as regards [strike]Bustin[/strike] Justin Harrell.

I will be pissed if he isn't activated too.

hey now Bustin is safe he won't be cut after all he was drafted by Ted Thompson and we know he is god when it comes to drafting. I say hell with it cut his ass and move on

You can't do that until he gets a chance to see what he can do. DT's don't drop off trees and McCarthy says he's gotten into the best shape since he been here. Now is not the time.

Most interior DL take a couple of years to physically handle the NFL game. We have a couple of guys now that didn't set the world on fire when they first got here either who turned out pretty good.

I think the coaches think he's a player just like they thought with Blackmon and they showed patience there and it payed off.

I could just see the fodder thrown Ted's way if he did cut him now that he's getting healthy and he does outstanding for another team. Besides, what are they going to do? Cut him and make the interior DL rotation that much leaner and take some guy off the practice squad?

...And in the meantime I have coined yet another disrespectful phrase right here at the beginning of this thread. Until Justin is activated, if you see me posting something like, "Where the Harrell was Al on that play?" Or, "Why the Harrell isn't Pickett playing?"--- You'll know what I mean...

How about if he steamrolls a QB or RB? Stay the Harrell down!

Just trying to be positive.

It must really suck watching football and not having a clue whats going on or how things work.

You don't cut a first round draft pick after a season an half of being a complete flop.

It has nothing to do with who drafted him, no GM would do that, atleast not any GM that will have his job the following year.

throwing into the middle of the season is a sure-fire to make sure he gets injured again. if he's not ready, he's not ready.

"IronMan" wrote:

If he's healthy enough to practice for 3 weeks, then shouldn't he be healthy enough to play? Besides, if he isn't activated this week, then he must go on IR anyway, per PUP list rules. So what is the risk of playing him?

Get his ass in there and lets see what he can do.

"bozz_2006" wrote:

He is said to be in the best shape of his pro career.

But he's not in football shape yet is his problem.

Also I'm not sure if it's true but I've heard that the Packers can keep him on the PUP list and active him before Tuesday. On Tuesday he'll be put on the IR.

From the sounds of what I've heard it sounded like Mike McCarthy knew he was going to active Harrell. He just didn't know when. I don't think Mike McCarthy wants to cut someone for Harrell until Harrell is ready or if they have to put Harrell on IR.

beast (8h) : Also why do both NYC teams have absolutely horrible OL for over a decade?
beast (8h) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (18h) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (18h) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (20h) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
Zero2Cool (21h) : Aaron Glenn Planning To Take Jets HC Job
dfosterf (21h) : Martha- C'est mon boulot! 😁
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you
wpr (22h) : Z, glad you are feeling better.
wpr (22h) : My son and D-I-L work for UM. It's a way to pick on them.
Zero2Cool (22h) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22h) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22h) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (23h) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (23h) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (23h) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (23h) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (23h) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Ooooo that completion makes things VERY interesting
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Game not over yet
beast (21-Jan) : Oh yeah, Georgia starting quarterback season ending elbow injury
beast (21-Jan) : Sadly something happened to Georgia... they should be playing in this game against Ohio State
beast (21-Jan) : I thought Ohio State and Texas were both better than Notre Dame & Penn State
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame getting rolled
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : Ohio State just got punched in the gut. Lets see how they respond
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Notre Lame vs the Luckeyes, bleh
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : Oh snap!!!
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Even Stevie Wonder can see that.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : Nah, you see Lions OC leaving to be HC of Bears is directly related to Packers.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ohhhhhhh Zero is in TROUBLE
packerfanoutwest (21-Jan) : Zero, per your orders, check Bearshome, not packershome
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Then he'll land with another team and flourish.
Zero2Cool (20-Jan) : Ben going to Bears. He'll be out in 3 years.
Mucky Tundra (20-Jan) : what's so funny?
