In one unforgettable image, Albert Haynesworth neatly distilled everything wrong with his tenure in Washington.

On a third quarter play, Haynesworth fell down and didnt bother to get back up. Michael Vick wound up finding Jason Avant for a touchdown after getting a ton of time to throw.

Jon Gruden said it was a moment you dont want to put on film for other coaches to see, much less national highlight reels. Haynesworths lethargy perhaps due to a lack of cardiovascular endurance directly impacted the play. If Haynesworth got up, Andre Carter would have got a clear shot at Vick instead of being blocked.

We would suggest the Redskins put the image on the front of their pricey tickets next season, but footballs most expensive backup defensive tackle surely wont be on the team.



I noticed this happening during the play and couldn't even say anything about it to my friends that were watching with me because I was laughing about it and in disbelief (which I really shouldn't have been) from what I had just seen. Was he tired? Did he think that Washington had passed a bill to make the FedEx field out of twinkies? Who knows. This guy is ridiculous. He would probably be talked to about this today if the coaches hadn't expected it from him in the first place.

So glad we pursued neither him nor Peppers.. neither will justify their contracts. They are front runners.. when times get a little tough or they cash their check.. they disappear.

Just watch.. Peppers is playing well for now.. but I doubt that last the duration of his deal.

But the other reason I didn't want Peppers here.. he, like Kampman, would be a ill fit for this defense.. not stout enough to play the line... not fluid enough to play the edge in a 3-4 completely. Bad fit.

Good point. Still, I think he is much more effective than Haynesworth. But I would sure like the see Peppers stop playing because he caused our O-line to shit all over themselves during week 3. Hopefully Bulaga and Cliffy can keep up their play in our first game of the new year.

I didn't see it while it was happening, but the replay sure was funny. This was just eight days after NBC's cameras had caught Cowboys' CB Mike Jenkins pulling up instead of trying to put a hit on James Jones just before he crossed the goal line. The Haynseworth one was way more blatant though.
