My mom was an EMT in college. She's told me stories. I've seen the videos. I've never drank and drove before in my life. I don't even like driving sober. And no, it's not because I think I'm a bad driver. Far from it. It's because I don't know how good of a driver or how sober every other car on the road is.

I stopped drinking and driving when i was a teen.
Thank God i didn't kill anyone.

I have only drank and drove twice in about 6 years of driving.

The first, was when an ex offered me her bottle of water after class at university. Looked like water, but it sure as heck wasn't water. We were going to the movies right after class. Probably under the legal limit at the time.

The other, my 18th, had to move a friend's car after he was even more shitfaced than I was, not that I'm a big drinker anyway. Only drove it about 30 m though to move it out of the way. Probably bordering the limit.

i used to drink & drive all the time in my teens. amazing i lived thru it. now i'm like you dj - not a big fan of driving - period. if somebody's not drunk or drugged, they're on their cell talking or texting. scary.

True, Illy.
Today, there are so many people on the road talking/texting on their cell phones. It takes their attention away from the road, and is VERY dangerous.
I bet there are as many or maybe even more accidents caused by that.

I text with my toes and therefore never take my eyes off the road nor my hands off the wheel.

How do you accel/brake non?

I was just in a car accident today. My mother was driving; some minor damage to the front right fender/wheel and mirror's destroyed. Nobody injured though. Le sigh.
