Jarret Bush played a great game :thumbright:

I have been one of his biggest haters and he played terrific tonight on special teams and on D when our back ups came in.

On a serious note it really ticked me off to watch the postgame show on ESPN with Trent Dilfer. Dilfer did a phenomenal job of fielding questions, imo, but all of the questions were about the Cowboys. I honestly think two questions were about the Packers while 30 minutes of the postgame was about the Cowboys and how bad they suck. I'm tired of ESPN covering 3 teams a year i.e. Patriots, Jets, and Cowboys.

Would love to hear input on that. But loved the game. Matthews INT and Collins scoring were great. A-Rodge played amazing football.

Last thing I have to say is O-line has improved so much and I know we don't like to have positive things go here too long 🙂 but wow Cliffy and Bulaga have played some terrific football. What has caused this though? Play calling or just individual improving as the season goes on? I'm pretty baffled at how quickly they've turned it around these last couple games.

Yeah Bush made two great plays. One was the recovery of that muffed punt.
The only negative was Nance didn't break his leg, so they won't be able to activate Starks.

im not afraid to admit this at all. As a matter of fact im HAPPY to say that Bush has had a very solid season so far. He might be the definition of being a late bloomer.

All good points, coltonja. Yes, the ESPN postgame was disappointing, but I could see it coming. As impressive as the Packers were, the Cowboys were shockingly bad. They looked absolutely hopeless, to the point where you had to wonder if they've simply quit. Collinsworth pointed out how that one DB (I think it was Jenkins) pulled up rather than trying to get in on the tackle of James Jones just before he crossed the goal line. And what really made the Cowboys look bad was how well Dez Bryant played. It looked like he was the only Cowboy player who really wanted to be on the field.

I think the biggest thing about this game is that Aaron Rodgers is back. This is how he played most of last year: good mobility, good decisions, and deadly accurate passes.

The O-line continues to be great with pass blocking. Bulaga had me worried after his first couple games, but he has now settled in and put together three very good games, and Clifton continues to turn back the clock. I give Chris Collinsworth credit for talking up Josh Sitton. He deserves it. And Wells too.

I didn't notice much difference in the play calling. They ran the ball more, but that's probably just because they could afford to, with the passing game being so dominant. They didn't run the ball great. And they still threw downfield a lot, which I know has been a sore point with people who don't like the play calling. I don't think they had any of those long pass plays on third and short, though, which has been my one quibble with the play calling this season, as I think they've done it too much.

Mostly, though, they just outplayed the Cowboys in every phase of the game. It was a good old-fashioned ass kicking.

For the record, ESPN covers four teams: the Cowboys, the Patriots, the Jets, and Brett Favre. Any time I am in the gym, I have to endure an hour and a half of Favre fellation from the mother ship. It gets nauseating fast. To hear ESPN talk, there is only one player in the NFL.

Totally off topic, did anyone else catch the interesting factoid that Ben Roethlisberger is the second-winningest active QB?

ESPN is obsessed with the cowboys. I quite enjoy it though, because Jerry Jones is an idiot. They will always suck. Trent Dilfer did say that the packers are among the best in the nfc no question. I only truly watched a whole interview with him last night, and I like him. He's a good analyst.

I agree about Dilfer - he's a much better analyst than QB. The Cowboys will get all the press this week because their ineptitude is bigger news than our solid play. We could have beaten any team in the NFL last night, but the Cowgirls could have lost to a lot of college teams...

No, didn't catch that. But like I've said, football is a team sport. Must be nice to have a SB ring when you can throw like this:

9 21 123 5.9 0 2 37 22.6

Back on topic, in defence of Bush, he got pushed into the starting lineup due to injuries. You can't hate a guy for that. If anything, hate the injury bug.

Last night showed why the coaches say over and over again that Bush is a solid ST player.

Watching Jarrett Bush at the end of the game last night, yes in mop up, Jarrett was looking a bit Woodson like attacking the line of scrimmage. Maybe the old man is rubbing off on Jarrett.

beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
