Packers receiver James Jones brought some entertainment to the locker room Wednesday when he grabbed a microphone and took over an interview with teammate Greg Jennings.
Jennings had been answering questions for nearly 15 minutes when Jones, whos locker is adjacent to Jennings, took a microphone from Jessie Garcia (WTMJ). Once Jennings finished answering a previous question, Jones broke in.
Do you feel like this is your opportunity to really take over that No. 1 role and become the No. 1 star in this offense, Jones asked in a snarky manner. (Donald Driver has been ruled out for Sundays game.)
We dont really have a No. 1 guy, Jennings started to say when Jones cut him off.
We do, Jones interrupted. We have starters. So, now, youre a starter. Are you going to take control of that No. 1 role now?
Im going to do everything within my will to make sure I hold up my end of the bargain, Jennings said with a a smile. But its a team game and I expect the guy to my right (which is Jones) Jones to step up and catch that ball down the sideline. And Im going to hold him accountable. Just like hes going to hold me accountable for taking a horrible angle and looking stank, like he puts it, on a shake-route.
We hold ourselves to a high standard and thats not going to change because Donald is out. And hes going to be on the sidelines saying Whats up? What are yall doing? You know how it is.
As entertaining as it was to see the two go back and forth, the thing is Jones asked a good question and Jennings gave a good answer. After that, the rest of the reporters kind of looked at each other and ended the session. It was an appropriate final question and answer.
