So how is NE doing this year with four starters on IR? Hmm.

Jacksonville and Indianapolis have had a serious proportion of their depth sapped. If they lose any starters, they'll have no one to back them up.

Of course, numbers on IR can be deceiving. Sometimes players who the team knows won't contribute much this season are stashed there to ensure the team maintains rights to them for the subsequent season.

At first I thought what's the big deal switching to an 18 game season but after watching all the guys go down this year I think it's a terrible idea

I highly doubt the overall proportion of guys going down this year is higher than any other year, at least not to any degree of statistical significance.

Interesting list. Thanks. A lot depends on which starters get hurt. The Grant and Finley injuries have been costly, but so far the Barnett, Burnett, and Jones injuries do not look like they will have such a high cost. It's surprising that the Packers' defense has been so much more resilient than the offense.

I wonder who the Patriots have lost? Anybody really good?
