Jets were 4-12 last year, even with 3 more picks from Mr favre yesterday, the Jets are 4-3 this year.

The only stat that means anything is wins and losses.

Packers were 14-4 last year, at this point 4-3 with a great showing against Indy going into the bye.

I hate articles like the one this thread is about. It only starts arguments and people either get their feelings hurt or get angry at someone else.

Stop the damn comparisons, be a Packer Backer ( which most are on this forum), and if you want be a BF Fan, comparing Aaron Rodgers and BF is just palin stupid.

I dont know how anyone can compare these two...Not this season..Not even their whole career. To make a fair comparison they would need to play on the EXACT same teams. That is the only way a fair comparison can be made. Thats why you look at wins. Wins is what matters to me. Rodgers could have the Packers go 16-0 and have an average QB rating of 48. While Favre wins 12 games and has an average rating of 105. I would take the 16 wins. ( I realize that is an unrealistic thing, having that bad of a rating with 16 wins) I just wanted to get my point across..that Wins are what counts..For a QB espicially.

Yeah but the Jets got a lot of a lot of FA in the off-season.

And the Packers have had a lot of injuries this year compare to last year where they had very little.

You can't judge how good players are compared to their teams win and loses record is.

Rodgers right now is playing better than Favre. That being said their could be many many different reason for that and may not be the players fault.

But comparing players is a little pointless unless your thinking about a trade or just for fun.

But it all goes done to the teams wins and losses.

the only comparison you could make is they both are starting brett with a new team aaron his first as q.b for a season other than that brett has been playing for along time a-rod hasn't brett is not going to change how he plays that is who he is,3 picks yesterday but they still won usually it goes the other way but that is happening all over the league this year which surprise me i still like brett when i watched the game yesterday the picks i think he is just used to having reliable receivers d.d jennings and the one pick where was bubba it was a good game to watch but his o-line he is taking a beating but brett being brett played through it

Wins and losses are not the only stat that matters, that is a ridiculous statement. If that were the case then is Kerry Collins the best qb in the league? The quarterback isn't the only one responsible for wins and losses, the rest of the team has a large say in the outcome.

The Jets picked up guys like Richardson, Faneca, and Jenkins to name a few. Those guys are some of the best in the league at their position, they've improved in other areas than just quarterback.

I agree, (some) reporters are 'stupid', but I don't think they believe playing QB is anything like Madden. That statement proves to ME (not that it matters to anyone lol) how bias you're basing your opinion and discredits your statement.

Being a vested veteran, a legend, learning terminology is far easier than starting your first NFL season in place of said legend. I'm not sure how many posts you read here, but don't confuse me for a Rodgers lover, Favre hater because I'm far from it. FAR from it. Favre is second behind Barry Sanders in my favorite book. But I'm not going to be naive about it and base opinion's on non sense.

I don't think Rodgers has out played Favre, as I said earlier. But I'll be damned if I am going to say 'poor Favre he has to learn new wordsies an thats why he threw those pickies'. He threw them cuz he's a high risk, high reward player. Rodgers is a low risk, medium reward player. Favre will give you HIGHER highs but will also give you LOWER lows than the kind of player I feel Rodgers is.

BOTH are solid QB's in my opinion.

I think that it is a positive to even have a conversation along these lines at this time of the year as we all needed to see what ARod could do once he got the ball.

This season is still with great hope BECAUSE we can make comparisons between Arod and a player as good as Brett and I can tell you I expected a rougher beginning for a first time starter.

How many have we seen not cut it and fall flat on their face? Thank God we are talking about two good QB's here because this season could be a real disaster if we weren't.

Besides, IMO things have worked out for the best. While Brett was successful in McCarthy's offense that scheme also throttled him from who he is and in NY they are not about to reign him in.

He get's to finish out his career being who he is and we have a guy that fits great in what they need him to do.

The REASON for the move in the first place was with a more long term benefit in mind and I think these comparisons may be more appropriate along about this time next year where we very well may see more growth in Arod and somewhat of a regression in Brett if he plays at all. Father time shows no mercy and I believe that was the overriding factor for the change to begin with.

Nahhh

just like last year, they got to the NFCCG only because of Favre...

But in 05, they were 4-12 because of everyone else

That is the biggest thing I have with how SOME people try to make rational statements..

How is that a rediculous statement? No where did I say that the quarterback with the most wins is the better quarterback. I'm just saying, that when it is all said and done, the most important stat for a quarterback should be how many games his team has won. And I realize that the QB can't win a game by himself. No where did I say that either. But a quarterback IMO can certanily lose games for you. Point is. Look at the record, look at the playoff wins, look at the superbowl wins. Thats what matters in the NFL. Not who can throw for more yards in a season, or more TD's. Who can do what they gotta do to get the win.
