you beat me too it, zombie! There are a lot of insinuations that these fractures won't limit his play...but if those aren't true, the irony that his streak stopped at the hands of the packers would be just perfect (at least for me! :)

I disagree about Tjack, though. he's mobile, and pseudo accurate. I actually think he'll make the queens better.

I'll believe it when I see it. (Favre missing a start, that is.) I am suspicious of these "fractures." If they were real fractures, wouldn't they have ruled him out of next week's game already? Or maybe they want to wait a couple days until things die down after the loss to the Packers. But as I said before, I'll believe it when I see it.

Brad Jones, the man that shot Ole Yellar. I hope all the Favrebillies don't lynch the guy.

Stop it!

I love watching the guy on Sundays but in between, don't listen to him. He's going to play. 100%. Watch. You are giving him exactly what he wants, attention. Just ignore him during the week or in the off-season, you will all be better off.

Hey RSE, there is ad nauseum footage in the archives. Watching Favre now was like watching old fat Elvis singing. We all preferred the younger version.

He was the 2nd best QB in the NFL last year (after Drew Brees). I don't think any of us expected a drop off this big. I was thinking more like he'll barely miss 30 TDs and throw 17 INTs +/- 2. Not this big.

There were plenty of discussions on this board in which it was stated that, based on his career history, he was just as likely (if not far more likely) to have an abysmal season as another excellent season. Favre has rarely ever sustained two high-quality seasons in a row.

Actually I beg to differ on this. '94-97 Favre were arguably the best four consecutive seasons ever played by a QB. Then he was good again from '01 to '04, with 3 straight Pro Bowl seasons in that time frame.

Then he sucked for two years and was good again in '07, and the first 11 games of '08 (he should have been benched for the last five games where he threw 2 TDs vs 9 INTs), and '09 was his best year since '97.

Year TDs INTs
1994 33 14
1995 38 13
1996 39 13
1997 35 16
2001 32 15
2002 27 16
2003 32 21
2007 28 15
2008 22 22
2009 33 7

Brett Favre is an alcoholic. Alcoholics are much better off with a strong person taking charge. Thus his best years were under Holmgren who wouldn't take shit from him. He started to take over Sherman near the end of Sherman's tenure and as he did, his stats declined.

MM came in slowly and reigned him in for the '07 season which was his best season since '97. I think 2009 was just continuing where he left off in '08 before his injury.

2010, he may be done. All the wear and tear finally caught up to him. Sad to see a warrior go down like this. Reminds me of Wallie's last season.

Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
