According to Tom Pelissero's twitter. Not getting surgery and currently wearing a walking boot. The streak finally ends?

If this is indeed true what an interesting end to a legacy.

I keep thinking back to the Spygate nonsense a couple years ago.. basically the league destroying the tapes instead of becoming transparent about what was on the tapes.. Vegas, championships and the integrity of the game were in the balance.

As the noose begins to tighten.. admitting that there were correspondence is the first step.. the NFL will begin to have a large sleeping nightmare upon its PR doorstep.

Favre is a cowbell for the NFL.. and they will want to do everything to protect that.. however they have the legal side of this that could be mounting that is going to be a potentially damaging hit if they do handle it openly and concisely.

So, you now have the Chilly feud, a "fracture". a team going into the tank quickly.. and an NFL investigation with much on the line in the balance.

Not saying that this is all being orchestrated by the NFL.. but I am thinking the Brett walking away from the game on his own terms and settling this matter without damaging his on field assets might be very attractive to the NFL, Brett, and the Vikings and Jets at this point.

If they tie the photos to Brett's camera.. I think this fracture may be a convenient way to put a finger in the PR dam at this point.

There.. I think I may have dipped a little more than a toe into Quaid's  world. 😉

Are you posing the thought that Brett is more apt to sit down a game to end the streak on his terms, rather than Goodell ending the streak?

Yes.. and if the season continues to spiral downwards.. I could see Brett hanging it up for the year/career. With or without a push from the NFL. 😉

lol! i know it's fun in a way to poke fun at him but in all honesty, i find myself completely conflicted. i long for the days of the old brett - before all of the BS came to light, before i realized that he's a fallible person, before the texts, before the trade, before all of it! i find it extremely sad watching him play. i think some people talked about what an exciting game it was & how much they enjoyed watching him last night but not me. i find it all very sad. at the same time, a little part of me enjoyed the hell outta the game, listening to my viking fan hubby say "time to choke again favre" 3 seconds before he threw INT #2, & even the boo's that rained down on him during the game. but just a small part. it's a sad way for him to finish his career.

He COULD have gone out on a better note last year had he not come back this year. At least he wouldn't have looked like a worn out old man.
And now, if his ankle is really fractured, i can't see how he can play anymore.
Yes, i know he beat the odds in the past, but he's 41 now. Not a young kid. And a sprain is NOT a fracture.
I think we may have seen his last game last night.
I doubt that he'd try to rehab for the little time left after his ankle healed. I can see him retiring. (For the final time)

Well if he did, he started his first game as a Packer and ended his last game against the Packers. Kind of ironic.

So much for the Vikings. Every DC will stack 8 men in the box and dare TJ to throw. We should do the same.
