At the very moment you are reading this, Aaron Rodgers is better than Brett Favre.

Right now, who are you taking at the quarterback position for a game tomorrow? Who do you trust?

Frankly, it's easy.

Favre was turnover prone yet again with two more picks in the Jets' horrendous loss to the Raiders in Oakland. And Michael Huff should've had a third pick in overtime. Favre's pick at the end of regulation didn't have a Jet target in the state of California. The Jets are 3-3, and Favre has been reckless with the football in losses to New England, San Diego and the lowly Raiders.

Rodgers, meanwhile, is wowing everyone in Green Bay with his toughness and excellent play. He was sensational in back-to-back wins at Seattle and last Sunday at home in what turned out to be a laugher against the Colts. Rodgers has been brilliant delivering the football to a bevy of targets while protecting the pigskin. In talking to Rodgers last week, he agreed that the win in Seattle was his best performance of the season.

Rodgers told me that his "take a deep breath" moment wasn't the win against the Vikings in Week 1. It was in the nationally televised preseason game against the Bengals when he played well and the fans gave him a standing ovation. Rodgers said it became the team he was responsible for piloting.

And then there is Jay Glazer's FOXSports.com exclusive that said Favre called Lions coaches before the Week 2 matchup to give them exactly what Green Bay runs. That's bush-league. There are players in that Green Bay locker room that would've run through a brick wall for Favre.

Who do you want as your quarterback? Who do you trust? It's never been so easy.

I am not familar with this writer, but I think he has a anti boner for Aaron's predecessor. Aaron is playing well yes, but outshining the Jets QB? I don't know that I can go that far just yet.

Stats wise A-Rod has played better than Favre so far. But Favre kinda single-handedly got a win (vs the Cardinals), something A-Rod hasn't done so far this year.

Perhaps he hasn't single-handedly won anything yet. But he's played more consistent over the course of the season so far. And that in itself is quite an achievement for a guy starting for the first time.

He does seem to be hating on Favre a bit much though.

Why are reporters so stupid. They think playing qb is just like Madden where you can put any qb in there and he will play up to his rating. Is he so dumb to realize that favre is brand new to the Jets terminology, system and its players and it will take over a year minimum for him to develop the same chemistry he had with the guys in Green Bay.

I'd love to see how well Rodgers plays in NY if they had thrown him in there with 3 weeks left before the season begins. Football isnt all about stats. Packers might be undefeated right now if Brett was still there. Thats about all that matters.

And i'm not knocking Rodgers at all in case any Ted Thompson lovers start to shake. I like Rodgers and i think he's even a little bit ahead of where i thought he would be at this point.

I agree, (some) reporters are 'stupid', but I don't think they believe playing QB is anything like Madden. That statement proves to ME (not that it matters to anyone lol) how bias you're basing your opinion and discredits your statement.

Being a vested veteran, a legend, learning terminology is far easier than starting your first NFL season in place of said legend. I'm not sure how many posts you read here, but don't confuse me for a Rodgers lover, Favre hater because I'm far from it. FAR from it. Favre is second behind Barry Sanders in my favorite book. But I'm not going to be naive about it and base opinion's on non sense.

I don't think Rodgers has out played Favre, as I said earlier. But I'll be damned if I am going to say 'poor Favre he has to learn new wordsies an thats why he threw those pickies'. He threw them cuz he's a high risk, high reward player. Rodgers is a low risk, medium reward player. Favre will give you HIGHER highs but will also give you LOWER lows than the kind of player I feel Rodgers is.

BOTH are solid QB's in my opinion.

Why do people label others "Favre lovers" or "Rodgers lovers"? It's stupid and childish.

Most of us want them both to do well. And of course a lot of us will be Rodgers lovers because he's the QB of the freaking Packers. Cmon.

...those were Drew Brees stats his first year in New Orleans

He was also coming off of major shoulder surgery. The new system excuse is tired. It was an excuse for maybe the first couple of weeks. After that, no. I know stats aren't everything but Favre has 11 picks (leads the league as of this post) on the season and is on pace for 25. Rodgers is on pace for 9. Favre has also been extremely inconsistent. Outside of the Arizona game he has 9 tds and 10 ints. I don't care how you cut it that's not good. Do I think Favre is playing as poorly as those stats suggest? No. But I do think that Rodgers has outplayed Favre thus far.

EXACTLY. This article was simply saying that so far this season Rodger's has been the better quarterback, without going into any external intangibles.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Rodgers has played better this year so far. No comparisons can really be made until they have both completed their careers. Obviously, Brett's has already been successful, my guess is that they both will be and both will be heros in Green Bay. I don't think anyone will argue with the fact that Aaron has a better team around him right now than Brett does. I'm not at all surprised that things are going the way they have for both QB's.

After seeing 7 games from each team I think I can officially say that I would rather have Rodgers as my QB this year than Favre. Rodgers will most likely never come near the success that Favre had, but if I had to pick which player I would want to run the Packer offense for the rest of this season I think I would have to go with Rodgers.
