What do you think the Al Harris Debut for the 2010 season will be how will he perform?

Will he play the nickel or start?

And the most important question will be is he gonna be ready to play this week? :thumbleft:

Tramon has been our best defensive back this year, so it would be a sin to bench him. I think Harris will have to play nickel.

And hopefully he'll play well. If he wasn't coming back from injury I'd want him matched up on Randy Moss.

I'd want Woody on Moss. I love Al, but he gets too torqued up to play against the big named guys. Remember when he got lit up in the NFC Championship against Plaxico? And that game against Dallas when TO abused him?
I was thinking they could start him out at safety if Bigby wasn't ready, but it looks like they may have that covered now. He'll start at nickel. Man Shields is an awesome dime back. He's been very solid at nickel. Dude's gonna be elite.

Harris is a tough call. He isn't replacing Woodson or Williams IMO. Nickel at best, but even Shields has been playing pretty good.

Well, we do employ a pretty flexible defense. I just hope they move guys around for maximum effect. I can't imagine that Harris matches up real well against Harvin, given the speed difference.

Hopefully Harris can bring something to the table. Given his age and the nature of his injury/length-of-recovery, I don't want to get my hopes up. All things considered, he's still Al Harris, so there is hope.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

I'm not trying to suggest a recovering Harris > Woodson, but to me Woody has been very underwhelming this year. He's got Clifton syndrome right now and has looked lost at times. I don't know if it's due to less pressure at the LOS that he depends on, but whenever he plays off, he seems very liable to get burned.

As has been said, Tramon has looked really good, and Shields has been decent, so I'm not sure where Al fits into the picture.

Woodson hasn't been that great this year. Tramon on the other hand is the best CB on this team as of today. Harris should be the 4th CB on the depth IMO, considering he hasn't played a game since a year. It would be best for him and the team, he could re-gain his timing and have a safe game because his body hasn't tooken a hit for a year. In 2 - 3 weeks will move him up as a 3rd CB.

Unless we bump Woody to safety and give his spot to Al.

That's a nice problem to have, not knowing where Al is going to play when he comes back. Thank god for that. Either way, an elevating secondary certainly won't hurt our cause.

I agree, benching Tramon just because he's Al Harris would be foolish. Tramon has been money. And Woody needs different shoes, he is always on the ground.

Ease him back in in the Nickel role, and go from there. That kinda sucks, because he'll take away time from Shields. Maybe Capers will get creative and allow Shields to use his speed to rush Favre.
