The fucking Patriots ruined the NFL. Everyone expects a dominating season to look like their undefeated year. They lost when it really counted though, to a Giants team that struggled the entire first half of the year. Errrrrrrrrrybody settle down plz.

Amazing isn't it? 5 games in, 3 - 2 and its doomsday. If we were 4 - 1 and you said 'were looking good' you'd be slammed with 'DUDE ITS ONLY FIVE GAMES MAN'.

I like the team's chances against the Dolphins. Their receivers aren't that great - Woodson and Tramon should be able to take care of B. Marshall and Davonne Bess. Pickett will be back, and the run defense is stout.

Of course, all hinges on the offense doing what they get paid to do, of course.

Pack played for shit last year around this time. Mac and Co. got them turned around and they finished 7-1. My confidence in McCarthy is wavering, but I still have faith in the fellas.

I'm optimistic. The last five weeks we've played some of the worst football I've seen. There have been injuries, dropped passes, clock management issues, loads of penalties, mental errors, and many ill-timed mistakes negating big plays. I have not seen our talented offense "click" or get in a rhythm even close to last season, let alone play a full two quarters in a row. Our defense has spent time laboring on the field with no rest.

Yet we sit here at 3-2 with losses by a total of 5 points. We haven't played the level of football that our team is capable of. I still see great things coming this season if we can get on track. And as it's been mentioned in this thread no NFC team has come out this season looking dominate.

It may not be realistic to say that the Packers can still finish 14-2 but it isn't impossible.

It's not impossible, but now we're going to start facing real teams with real quarterbacks.

Saints (3-2) lost to Cards starting an undrafted QB
Cowboys (1-3) lost to TN
San Diego (2-3) lost to Oakland
Cinncy (2-3) lost to Tampa.

These are all playoff teams from last year with legitimate SB hopes, and are obviously struggling as well. This does not excuse the underwhelming performance by the Packers and the golden opportunities missed to be on top of the division/conference. However, it is a reminder that sometimes it rains in your neighbor's yard too.

So what does that really mean?

The Bears are 4-1. Overcame 4 ints and killed the Panther's running game.
The Buccaneers are 3-1. Beat a very explosive Bengals team.
The Falcons are 4-1.

I haven't been watching the NFL for as long as most of you, but I do know that it's no soccer league and that you don't never have the same teams playing for it all.

The Saints just aren't that great a team. They had a flukey run in the play-offs after greatly outscoring bad teams and posting scores like 46 - 34 against good teams in the regular season.

Would you really expect them to repeat?

Or the Cowboys. They've been an uncordinated pool of talent for ages now. Why are they a standard we should be comparing ourselves to?

If we were the Lions, yes, I'd say, let's see how we stack up against some of the lesser teams. This season will be a success if we win a game or 5. But we're not. We're trying to keep on pace for the play-offs. Preferably even the division. We shouldn't be focusing on edging out other struggling teams which were crowned division champions before the season even started. They're struggling. And there's a very realistic chance that non of those 4 teams will make the play-offs.

Is the sky falling? No. We still have quite a few games to play. Does it get hard when you squander away games you should win? Very much. Especially if you look at the 2nd part of the season. Or even the next 4 games. The Redskins are a worse team than the Dolphins, Vikings and Jets. Going into the bye week 4-5 wouldn't surprise me if we keep playing like this.

I'm just hoping that we'll turn it around before the bye week. That we won't need an extra week to tune things and have another one of those meetings where everything comes together, for some reason.

FIRE EVERYBODY!!!!!! TIME TO START FROM SCRATCH!! Oh no, I just dislocated my right knee.

NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO PANIC!!!

Remember, schedules are on paper, nobody knows which part of the schedule is the tough part, you just need to go back to last year to figure that out.

There were a lot of people throwing in the towel last year when The Pack was 4-4 and the mighty Cowboys were coming to town. It was over, no way Packers would win, they dominated The Boys, went on to finish 7-1.

Time to get straightened out, let's see what happens.
I was addicted to The Hokey Pokey, but I turned myself around!
