And that pushes either Underwood, Lee, Bush or Shields to the edge.. thus creating a weaker spot than with Woodson there.

Ill have to disagree with you there..Jenkins,Raji,and Zombo get good pass rush. And we lack consistent pass rush past Matthews? If im mistaken jenkins have had a sack in each game this year and we led or are in 2nd in sacks this year.Hell even woodson is a good pass rusher.

Yes. We have 16 sacks in 4 games. 7 from CM3, 9 from other people including 4 from Jenkins, 2 from Raji, and 2 from Zombo.

I have a good feeling we're going to get even better and that might be one of our strong points (the pass rush). Our D is weird, and it took over a year to "get." By the middle of the season, I think our pass rush will be top 5 in the NFL.

Can I get an Anthony Smith? Nope?

Michael Lewis was just released by SF. Rouse might still be alive?

......

Mark Roman?

Um???? Matt Giordano???

I am most dissappointed about what this will do to Burnett's long term development. He was getting valuable experience this year. He has pro bowl potential. This is a BIG loss for our defense this season and future seasons.

Aaron Rouse, hell no.
Anthony Smith, sure, I'd be down for that, if he's been healthy the last two years. He's played in 14 games since leaving the Steelers.

Edit, He's with the Jaguars now and a starter who's doing good in the two games he's started.

We should have never got rid of smith bad decision by the pack and im not saying that because Burnett's out for the season.

and we lack consistent pass rush past Matthews to move him that far back on the field..

I'm with Pack93z on that one. When Matthews isn't rushing the other guys are far less effective in their rush. So not only is Matthews the best pass rush option, but he makes the rest of the line better because of his effectiveness. Taking Matthews off the line would hurt two fold imho.

"pack93z" wrote:

This really goes both ways. If you took Jenkins out (more than rotation) Matthews isn't going to be effective. Same for Raji. It is the combination of the three that really makes the pass rush. Can't double them all.

I agree that moving Matthews would be a huge mistake though.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!
