ESPN reporting it as well. 2011 fourth-round pick and a conditional pick is a sixth-round selection that can become a fifth-rounder based on Lynch's productivity with Seattle.

You know... not going the distance to acquire Lynch could be a sign that Ted Thompson is confident in the people he has now. I know this is an unrealistic reach, but Ted could be so confident in what Starks may be able to do off of PUP that he took a pass on Lynch. (I don't ACTUALLY believe this)

Ted Thompson may also be holding on to see what happens with Williams in Carolina.

Personally I think the deal fell through because Ted Thompson was unwilling to part with one of his picks, yet again. However the old man always seems to have a plan in the back of his mind.

One thing you have to think about when it comes to Lynch is the final year of his contract will void after this season is over if he reaches playing time incentives.

So you trade a pick for Lynch and you then have to give him a new contract after 1 season. I doubt the locker room is going to be very happy seeing a new guy come in and get a deal right away. Then what do you do with Ryan Grant who may need to rework his deal or else has a new one coming after next season.

On top of it all Lynch is 1 mishap away from a lengthy suspension.

He's always been "the man with the plan." More often than not his plan work well, so I'm going to give him some leway on this one for now. No doubt we'll find out weather this plan is good or bad by the end of the season. (hopefully after a SB victory)

The Bills may have taken the team's probable draft position next year, into account. It would be safe to wager that the Seahawks will be in a higher draft position than the Packers, giving their pick greater value.
