LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is generous, albeit not exactly on the same level as Cowboys rookie receiver Dez Bryant.

But unlike Bryant, Rodgers' gesture had nothing to do with failing to carry pads during training camp.

One day before Bryant picked up a tab for his teammates in excess of $54,000 according to ESPNDallas.com, Rodgers ran into Chicago Bears players Pisa Tinoisamoa, Nick Roach and Desmond Clark at a restaurant on the eve of their Monday night matchup.

"First of all, Dez Clark invites us all to dinner, and he didn't call in a reservation, so we're sitting down in front waiting for a table and in walks Aaron Rodgers and his family," Tinoisamoa said Tuesday on ESPN 1000's "Football Night in Chicago." "So I see the [restaurant] guy helping out Aaron Rodgers [to get a table], and I'm like 'This can't be happening.'

"So I walk over, interrupt, and say 'You're not going to sit a Packer down before you sit a Bear down, are you?' The guy was like, of course not, what do you mean...oh, you're Bears player, OK."

Tinoisamoa, Clark and Roach proceeded to exchange pleasantries with Rodgers, before the two parties went their separate ways. The encounter with the rival quarterback faded into the backdrop, until it came time to settle up the tab.

"Dez actually had two other buddies with him and Nick had his girlfriend meet us up, so we're eating good and not thinking about it," Tinoisamoa said. "It was a cool little experience. We met Aaron Rodgers, OK. But then we go to pay for the bill and they said the Packers [Rodgers] picked it up, so there you go."

longtimefan shouted the link to this and I felt it deserved a topic. Aaron is pretty much a prick, right? I bet we don't find this on PFT.

Welfare is prettty much the norm in Chicago. Can't expect the Bears players to expect different treatment I guess.

Anyone else thought his "so there you go" response was a bit douchey? I mean, shit Rodgers probably just paid a couple of grand for you guys and the best you got is "so there you go."?

They are Bears players. Jay Cutler is the leader of their team. "Douchey" pretty much goes without saying.

Not at all because I don't know the question that was asked that brought this up nor do I know the full context. I'm guessing someone asked him what he thought about Aaron Rodgers and he had that story... then all that was needed was 'so there ya go' as if to say I hate to say it but he's a damn good guy.

I love that not only does he take his O-line out to eat all the time, but he also treats rival players to a meal. And he didn't go over to them and say "I'll get your tab," which would suggest that he wanted recognition and praise from them immediately, but he just pays it, doesn't say a word, and leaves.
This reminds me of my dad. He works on the road, which means that he eats at restaurants every day. He often tells the waitress to bring over the tab from a neighboring table (usually elderly individuals) with the promise that the server will no tell these people who picked up their tab. I am damn proud of my dad for this, and I'm damn proud of my quarterback as well.

Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : If the exploit is not fixed, we'll see tons of "50 top free agents, 50 perfect NFL team fits: We picked where each should sign in March" lo
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Issue should be solved, database cleaned and held strong working / meeting. Boom!
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : It should be halted now.
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : usually spambots are trying to get traffic to shady websites filled with spyware; the two links being spammed were to the Packers website
Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : you know when you put it that way combined with the links it was spamming (to the official Packers website)
Zero2Cool (18-Feb) : Yep. You can do that with holding down ENTER on a command in Console of browser

Mucky Tundra (18-Feb) : I've got to go to work soon which is a pity because I'm enthralled by this battle between the bot and Zero
