Clay Matthews to be named NFC defensive player of the month

Matthews leads the league with six sacks which came in consecutive three-sack games to open the season and although he didnt record a sack in Week 3, he had perhaps his best game against the run, blowing up several plays.

I know it sounds clich to say Ive got something to prove, but especially coming out (of college) they said Oh, he can rush the passer but can he play against the run? Matthews said today. So I take a lot of pride in overall how I approach the game.

He earned it, so happy we traded up for him.
