There are no drills for half the penalties the Packers made tonight. Maybe you address them in film study, but that many fall starts and tossing players to the ground. Also leading with your helmet like Zombo did.

Sometimes you have to point the fingers at the players. Those were on the players.

This.

Also, packers deserved many of the penalties, and I'm not going to pull the "refs blew the game" card, but 18-5 penalty ratio does seems curious. Like others have said, many penalties were just STUPID consequences of a lack of focus...that's all a false start is for example. You can't pin this all on M. M...many factors involved.

I know how to fix the penalties. Try this lineup against the Lions:

I actually think they could have had a lot more penalties. Clifton in particular was regularly flirting with the "not on the line of scrimmage" penalty. He only got hit once for it, but he was regularly lined up deeper than the center's ass.

And given the trouble he had with Peppers et al from time to time, it's likely if he had had to move up (after, say, three calls), he would have had some extra holding calls/false starts.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

the penalties are just a result of having a lot of young players on the field. (and a crappy OL) Everybody needs to calm down this is the price you pay when you build a team entirely through the draft.

He does correct the penalties it is just the players don't respond on gameday. In the end it is the players fault not the coaches. All the O line penalties are uncalled for they jumped and held to much, some calls were questionable as well the refs sucked last night. One thing MM does need to do more is work with his olineman for sometime.

Ahh, so that's what is done on a DISCUSSION BOARD! Glad ya could tell us what to do, cuz boy, we'd have been lost without that guidance. Kind like our coach is on how to freaking instill discipline into his team.

It's really annoying watching the same players, commit the same penalties. They say they can't just bench the player to prove a point because ... get this ... it'll hurt the team's chances of winning. I say, WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK THE PENALTIES ARE DOING?!!

It's hard to prevent penalties when the offensive line is being destroyed
by one player by the name of Julius Peppers.
