Harvin to have MRI on Monday

Vikings wide receiver Percy Harvin will undergo an MRI on his bruised hip after aggravating the injury while blocking in the second quarter of the Vikings' 14-10 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Mall of America Field at the Metrodome.

Harvin's injury is a significant problem for a wide receiver corps that already had only four players. This will lead to even more speculation that the Vikings will make a real bid to trade for San Diego's Vincent Jackson in the next couple of days.

The 6-5 Jackson is exactly the type of play-making wide receiver the Vikings miss with Sidney Rice sidelined because of a hip injury.

Asked about possibly getting Jackson on the roster, Favre did not bite after Sunday's game: "Its not for me to decide. Ive heard the talk just like everyone else has heard, and Ill tell you the same thing I tell everyone else. You know as much as I know. But weve got to play Detroit [next Sunday] and all I know is we have to get better, the guys we have in the room. I cant speak for other guys who are not here."

Favre completed 22 of 36 passes for 225 yards with no touchdowns and three interceptions Sunday. That is one more interception than he threw all of last season at home as the Vikings went 9-0, including a postseason victory over Dallas. Favre's 44.3 passer rating was easily his worst as a Viking.

Part of the issue is that Favre and wide receiver Bernard Berrian continue to not be on the same page. Berrian was targeted five times by Favre and caught only two passes for 24 yards. Two of Favre's passes for Berrian resulted in interceptions, including one at the goal line.

This came despite the fact Berrian was on the field for much of the game and should be this team's No. 1 wide receiverer.

Favre said he believes he is getting the necessary effort from Berrian. "Ill watch the film tomorrow, but I think Bernards heart is in the right place," Favre said. "In my mind, I believe he did all he could do. If I felt otherwise I wouldnt throw it to him. We go to bat with who weve got, me included, and thats the way it is. Im not going to look out to my left, look out to my right, and say Im not throwing it out there. Im not going to play that way. Thats the way it is."

Vikings linebacker Ben Leber left the game because of a back injury. Brad Childress said he did not have an update on Leber and the veteran was not in the locker room afterward. Erin Henderson replaced Leber and played well.

I know what you mean Zero......when he was a Packer, he sure didn't mind sticking his nose into everything.
If they lose Harvin, they are in even more trouble.
