Now is the time to makes some moves. We have the depth to recover if Ted Thompson misses on some free agents. I would love to see Ted Thompson ink a franchise guard (or two) this offseason and a stud DT (Albert Haynesworth anyone???)

The thing I like about Ted is that he's willing to trade picks if the right players are involved (eg. Moss, Gonzalez, Grant). He even traded up to grab Jeremy Thompson last draft. He's willing to shift his stance if it produces a better team. Hopefully, he'll do that next Spring.

Good lord, Albert Hayneswort would be unreal. He would have might have close to an effect on the D-line that we got when Reggie White came in(purely from a production standpoint)

Add 2 stud O-lineman and a third good cornerback and this team would be the favorite in the NFC or top 3 team for 5 years. Especially considering the fact that as well as Rodgers is playing, this will probably be his worst season since he will only get better. Give him a couple O-lineman so he can sit in the Pocket all day like Brady & Manning have done for so many years and this offense will be as good as any in the nfc.

But anyway, as far as the depth goes and stockpiling draft picks, there is no point anymore. Look at our roster. The depth guys are in place. We dont need to draft an O-lineman in the 4th round to replace the 4th rounder we drafted a year or two ago. Keep who we got and just focus on improving the NEED AREAS - OL and 3rd CB mostly and D-line only if we have a chance to get a monster. The key phrase here is"MAJOR UPGRADE", "DIFFERENCE MAKER", "GAME CHANGER" We have two on the roster, Harris & Woodson and thats it.

His teams are barely over :500 and HE IS THE MAN FOR THE JOB!!!!

Ted Thompson IS A GENIUS!!!!!!

I forgot 1-1 in playoffs!!!!! Ted Thompson IS A GENIUS!!!!!!

I'm just srewing around a little, let's give Ted another 4 years before he is judged. 8 years is plenty to solidify Ted Thompson's Genius status, maybe he can get a street named after him in green bay!!!!

But two of Ted Thompson years so far have been very very very injury prone. (including this year)

The another one the Packers had a new coach and a lot of players learning a new system.

And another one where the Packers went 14-4

Ted Thompson is a genius!!! Some how he has convinced most everyone that being barely over :500 after 3-1/2 years is exceptable.

He gets a pass because this guy got hurt or this guy sucked.

Funny how former GM's got no breaks at all. Ted Thompson IS A GENIUS!!!! Drink the cool-aid, and enjoy!!!

Go Packers!!!!

I don't know if Ted Thompson is a genius or not. But look at the whole picture.
He takes over as GM of a team that was heading south.
2001 was 12-4
2002 was 12-4
2003 was 10-6
2004 again 10-6 but the team was showing signs of growing weaker. Especially on the defensive side. (The points allowed was 266 back in 2001 and by 2004 it was up to 380.) The salary cap was maxed out. They had no room to manuever. They were set for a collapse which they did in 2005. If Sherman was still GM and coach maybe GB would have been 6-10 instead of 4-12 who knows.

So the base line for Ted Thompson is his 1st year. They have improved every year.
4-12
8-8 (winning the last 4)
12-4
This year is not done yet. So I will wait. Will they be 12-4 again even if they still had Brett? I doubt it. Can they be a respectible 10-6? It is possible. That is not a bad over all record for a any GM in his 1st 4 yrs esp if you consider how much turnover GB has had.

beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
