Mon, Sep 13 Stadium Time (ET) Network DIRECTV SIRIUS Westwood One
BAL @ NYJ New Meadowlands Stadium 7:00 PM ESPN 125 (BAL) 126 (NYJ) Radio
SD @ KC Arrowhead Stadium 10:15 PM ESPN 127 (SD) 91 (KC) Radio

At first I thought the game was being played in San Diego. The NFL in their infinite wisdom really messed up by having a game START at 9:15 in Kansas City. It won't get over until after midnight. I can not imagine why the NFL thinks this is a good thing. I know they are targeting the Left Coast audience but do that with games that are actually played out there.

It's only because it's the opening week double dip for Monday Night football. If they started the games earlier than a lot of people would miss parts of the first game getting home from work. At least this way I can still see both if I choose.

I understand why they want a doubleheader on opening weekend but to have the late game in the midwest is stupid. Should be on the west coast. You and I and everyone else can still see both games but it would not cause undue hardship for the fans in the stands.

It would be interesting to know why they did schedule it that way. Or if they just through darts at the board and that's what came up. I wonder if it has something to do with it being the first game in New Meadowlands and they had a deal to make that game primetime.

Well, it's only an hour later than a regular Monday night game. It does kind of suck for the fans, but in the era where TV dominates, it's not that outrageous. For example, fans often have to change plans for late season games when the NFL moves the start time by three hours to accommodate TV audiences.

I'd be interested to hear if the Chiefs are okay with this start time. My guess is that they accepted it because they wanted to host a Monday Night Football game, and this was their only chance. MNF=free publicity.

Most NFL fans in the East give less than a half of a shit about KC or SD. They will not be watching anyway.

This is good for the fans on the West Coast.

The world does not revolve around Eastern Daylight Time.

I agree that there should be games for those out West. But the last time I checked KC was in the Central Time Zone. Those are the fans I am referring to not those out East. Play the late game in a stadium out West.

How do you know that the fans in Kansas City don't like this? The Chiefs don't get to play on Monday night very often anymore, and until they get better, it's not going to happen in the regular Monday night time slot. This may be the most exciting game of the year for the fans.

Greg I don't know. I have not polled all their season ticket holders.
All I am saying is that the game begins around 9:30. They last, on average, 3 hours +. Many time kick off isn't at the stroke of what the NFL projected. So the 9:15 start may well be 9:20 or 9:25. A lot of passing could make the game run closer to 3 and a half hours instead of 3.

It is conceivable that the game could end after 12:30. You don't just walk out and get in your car. You have to climb the stadium stairs with the thousands of other people. Then exit the stadium, walk thru the parking lot to get to your car and then wait to leave the lot. Easily it could and other 1/2 hour minimum and depending on the ease of getting out the parking lot and hour is not unheard of. Then you still have to drive home or to your motel. Another hour maybe two.

All of this can be explained away IF the game was on a Friday or Saturday but coming on Monday it is just poor planning on the NFL. People will have to take a day off work. Some will skip school. All for the sake of a football game.

The potential for driver fatigue is greater. It will be harder to get assistance for those who have car trouble. Those who stay at motels close by end up spending more money.

Obviously you don't agree with me. Fine. I think it is a bad idea.

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
