Packers defense sometimes loses that intensity that stops the opposing teams cold during key moments.

Repeatedly, last year, the defense arose and stopped the opposing teams dead on their tracks in their 4-0 start.

Even before the arrival of Grant and the complimentary running game, Packers were winning with a staunch defense that carried them.

I don't know what the difference is this year, but the Packers lack of intensity and thus the loss of focus has caused the Packers defense to slide down to one of the poorer defenses. Especially in stopping the run.

So what is missing? How do we get it back? How do we not lose the intensity?

Personally, this Colts game scares me because of the Packers inabilities on defense. Manning, complimented with ANY kind of running game may be the most prolific passer in the business.

It is early sunday and the time has come for me to go to church. I hope God hears my pleas as I will say a prayer for my team.

Go Packers!

Here are some things that have been different this year, at least since week three or four, compared to last year:

Cullen Jenkins--injured
Al Harris--injured
Atari Bigby--injured
A.J. Hawk--playing hurt
KGB--playing hurt
Justin Harrell (Corey Williams' replacement)--injured

Maybe there is a lack of intensity as well. I'm not ruling it out. But there is definitely a lack of quality personnel. The good news is that we could get all of them back healthy soon, with the exception of Jenkins.

i think bigby, harris, and jenkins are the main 3 reasons, hawk doesnt seem to be playing that badly, and im excited about harrell. Bigby usually brings big hits which fires up the D, and harris can usually just throw the receivers down at the line before they even run their routes.

I couldn't agree with you more obi. This has been my major beef with the D this year. They seem to be too focused on technical aspects of their game, and aren't getting fired up enough. When things go badly, all I hear is "gap discipline" etc. These guys have been around for a while. They need to start trusting themselves and go out there and hurt people.

You also forgot

Pickett- playing hurt
Collins- playing hurt (his back)
Woodson- playing hurt (toe)
Hunter- injured
Montgomery- injured
Peprah- was injured and did play hurt but, I think he's now healthy.
P. Lee was injured so Bush had to play some CB in a game

And I haven't heard it but I don't think Jolly is back to 100% ether.

And that's only defense....
