All I have been hearing from fellow Packers fans all off season, is how the Vikings choked against the Saints. They seem to take a lot of pleasure out of this. I don't.

If a team beats you twice, and advances further than you in the playoffs, you look really stupid giving that team shit when they lose.

That would be like if Bears fans would have gave us shit after we lost in the Wild Card round. "Haha the Packers lost. You suck!" My reaction to that would be, uh, guess what..you didn't even make the playoffs. And we kicked your ass, so shut your mouth.

I just think that as a fan, when your team is on the losing end, you should just be quiet. Talking shit about a team that beat your ass twice, is just, well, lame.

Flip the script. Say we sweep the Vikings this year, and lose in the SB. Afterward, Vikings fans litter the forum with stuff like, "Haha I knew you guys would choke."

Wouldn't you think that would be horribly lame? Of course you would. Well, that's exactly what a lot of Packers fans have saying about the Vikings since their playoff exit.

I don't like it. Thoughts?

So you're saying not to talk shit to Vikings fans? Sorry, not gonna happen! That's part of the fun of sports, talking trash to your rival buddies etc. I'm politically correct enough in my professional life, I don't want to be with football. Last season doesn't matter anymore. It's all about the HOPE of this season, and even if we didn't win a game last year, I would still tell my buddies we're gonna beat everyone this year!

Why can't it just be about disliking the Vikings and cheering for the Saints? I didn't know there were so many goddamn rules when it came to being a football fan.

I like seeing the Packers win and the Vikings lose. No apologies here.

The thing is, the Viking fans are gonna talk shit no matter what, and so will fans of every other team in the league, unless you win the Super Bowl.

I can admit this and it doesn't bother me at all. I enjoy watching the Vikings lose as much as watching the Packers win. When they lose like they did in the 1998 and 2009 NFC championship games, it gives me feelings of euphoria.

The reason for this disturbed behavior is that the majority of Viking fans are bandwagon wishy washy fucksticks who talk shit and don't even understand the game. I live in a city with about an 80% majority of these mooks and after the 1998 game the parking lots around town were littered with these window flags that they had been "proudly" displaying for a month. I have no respect for that team. I do however appreciate our Viking buddies who talk real football and share ideas.

Iron, you make a valid argument.

Didn't the Bears beat us twice in '07 and not make the playoffs while we made it to the NFC Championship game?

I don't have my panties in a bunch over this. Not that big of a deal to me. The Vikings made us look silly in the first half of the year before we got our shit together. Would have been great to have played one of those games in the second half of the season to see the outcome. Games 1-8 and 9-16 were night and day. And the last eight are why so many fans are high on the Packers.

Seeing the Saints do what our Packers couldn't, was nice to see. I didn't know who I wanted to win, all I knew was I didn't want Peyton to win another Super Bowl. For me, the best thing was for the Saints to win out. I was happy for the Saints because of what that city went through with Katrina.

Vikings fans and Packers fans and Bears fans will always find something to smack at one another about.

I've said it a few times now. I can't say the Packers are better than the Vikings until we beat them and that's another reason I'm glad Brett's filling out his contract.

I want us to be the best. To be the best, you need to beat the best. Right now, the Vikings are the best in our division. Do I think we can beat them? Yes. I'm confident the Packers CAN beat any team in the league, except the Saints if they are firing on all cylinders.

To answer your question ... no it wouldn't be lame ... it would be called fan's being fan's and doing what is expected ... giving their rivals fanbase a hard time.

If you can't take the heat, get outta kitchen.

If we went 16 - 0 and lost in the Super Bowl, I'd fully expect to be laughed at and to be given a hard time by fans of many teams. I don't see how that's lame.

What is lame would be for us to say we're better than the Vikings, after they advanced farther in the playoffs and spanked us twice last year.

We need to beat them before we can say we are better than them. And I think we will. 🙂

I love jawing with Bi-Queens, regardless of the seasons performance trend.

As Zero pointed out, delusional talk is annoying - example - Last year, a Bears fan was telling me how the Bears are a better offensive and defensive unit than the Packers. That opinion was quickly shot down with statistics and plain fact, just as I would have been had I presented an opinion that the Packers are a better team (at that moment) than the Vikings.

Revelling in a rival teams failure is beautiful though, and I enjoy watching little Vicocks embrace the heartbreak they are so used to. 98, beautiful. Last year, beautiful. 70's, so beautiful. I love reminding Vikings fans' that their team embraces a losing culture, and might not even be their team for much longer should they move to Los Angeles.

Along with Packer success, the failures of the Bears & Vikings add to the package of being a Packer fan.
