What I am not liking is the comments about having our young guys learn new positions.

First-round pick Bryan Bulaga (Iowa) has been so impressive that instead of just learning left tackle behind veteran Chad Clifton, he is competing to be starting left guard.
I know there is a thread on this but I just don't understand why they insist on doing this shit. It's not like Clifton is a young player and we will be lucky if he makes it all 16 games. If he goes down then what disrupt the whole line again and end up with the same problems we had last year.

The next part I didnt care for was
Clay Matthews, recovering from a hamstring injury, has flipped to left outside linebacker to add to the disruption Jenkins can cause at right defensive end. Matthews is coming off a 10-sack season.

Ok so we had a guy make the Pro Bowl but now we are going to move him to the other side and learn all new things.

I just don't like how Fred Flintstone handles the young players, His idea of having these guys learn multiple positions is a major downfall of his.

I also didn't understand the comment about Aaron Rodgers learning the offense.

Im excited about seeing Aaron Rodgers play tonight and then I can start on my report of him.

As far as I heard the two OLB spots are actually quite similar. I don't think Matthews switching sides will be at all detrimental to his development.

Great article by Mort. definitely looking forward to seeing AR-12 elevate his game even further this season.

Mathews did play both OLB spots at USC. I think it is just an experiment during preseason and while people are dinged up. When the season starts, my guess would be the base has Jones on the left and Mathews on the right.

My one hope for Aaron Rodgers is that by the end of his career, I want him to be known as the greatest QB to have ever played for the Packers, one step ahead of Bart Starr 🙂

Sorry. Not possible.

He's still 5 NFL championships away. Not to mention that near-unmatchable character.

But it's a nice dream to have. Aspiring to be better than Bart Starr is a darn laudable goal.

I disagree but not in principal, just in magnitude. I think the dream is what you say, but one that Rodgers may aspire too. One near impossible to reach, but greatness is not easy. Or everyone would do it. It would, of course, take a lifetime to achieve it.

Well, my biggest hope is he wins more SBs than any other GB QB. That would rule.

Of course, Starr got a lot of Titles and had the misfortune to have played some of his best years before the SB existed.

Pretty sure Rodgers will march down the field when ever he wants. Nobody can stop the passing game. Defense is still a question with new guys in the secondary, and this 3-4 scheme that seems to get killed in pass coverage.
