I think AJ Hawk comes to play this season fellas. I just have a great feeling. He has been playing scared and thats unfortunate. He needs to unleash the player he really is (used to be).
Will we be looking at a Matthews, Hawk, Barnett, Chillar group this season?

It's year 5. Hawk is just Hawk. He won't make leaps from here on out. He'll never be what we wanted at pick 5, but we'll get another solid year out of him.
And after that he's most likely gone. I've read that, in year 6, we'll owe him $10 million and we're not going to cough that up for an underachieving ILB.

It's year 5, but it's year 2 at his current position as Buck ILB in a 3-4 defense. It's possible, if not especially likely, that he could improve significantly from his play last year due to experience and familiarity in the Capers system.
Hawk in '06- Strong showing as a rookie starter.
'07- Sophomore slump? Decent year, but not much improvement.
'08- Groin injury that really slowed him down. Another decent year but nothing special.
'09- First year in 3-4 as Buck ILB instead of 4-3 weakside OLB he played in the old system. Yet another solid but unspectacular year.
'10- So far the consensus seems to be that he looks slimmer and quicker than he has recently. It's a fair bet that he will be AT LEAST solid this year. If he can just add a few more big plays, he can go from solid to very good. We'll see.
