I'm watching packers training camp and they mentioned the dynamics of the vikings without brett. i thought, the vikings only need a qb to put up troy aikman numbers to be successful.

then i looked up his numbers and started thinking ... why the hell is he in the Hall of Fame? I knew his numbers weren't anything to boast about, but wow, really?

I liked him as a QB. I THOUGHT he was smart with the ball. But, doesn't Lynn Dickey have better stats? lol

Sniffles doesn't belong there either as long as we are dumping on Cowboys. Emmit Smith, some of those obese lineman, Charles Haley, and Deion. The rest were just good football players on a great team.

I think he has a 1-1 TD to TO ratio. He was not a great QB and Emmit was a pedestrian back at very best. His line gave him 3 free yards per carry. He fell down for 2 and lead the league. That line would have given Vince Workman the rushing title year after year. Curtis Enus could have run behind that line. Aikman and Smith, probably Irvin too, would all have been average at best if they played for any other team.

I also think Brady has the same advantage. Probably gets him an extra 10-20 points on his rating. Cassell was around 90 when he started in NE and around 70 in KC.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.

Man, Travis Jervey would have been HOF material behind that freaking o-line. I'm so tired of this Emmitt Smith worship. The guy was tough as hell and had good moves but he had 4 pro bowl lineman in a single season at least once and that year didnt include Erik Williams if I recall. I mean wtf, that will probably never happen again. Daryl Johnston, a good accurate QB to move the chains and give balance in Troy aikman, good receivers, good defense to get them the ball back. Aikman was really good but only because he could stand back there all day with no pressure on him. HOF, i dont think so. Those cowboy teams were the most stacked teams in nfl history.
