WHY do the "reporters" GO to Brett Favre? ANSWER: Because they KNOW he isn't capable of keeping his mouth shut!

"Cheesey" wrote:

Agreed. But what does that have anything to do with being a diva or drama queen? Just because a guy is transparent doesn't mean he's a diva.

Also, about the 'circus'.. The only circus here is what the national media stirs up.. No real Viking fan is concerned about what is going on in Mississippi. We are more concerned with how EJ's leg is doing, or how Ced's knee is doing than we are with anything to do with Favre. But because ESPN and the national media knows that the rest of the league's fans will eat up anything Favre.. they 'report' it.

So, have fun enjoying the imaginary circus the national media drums up. Meanwhile, I'm going to worry about the stuff that really matters.

He really isn't the only one. I'm frankly surprised more players on the Vikings haven't spoken out / showed their discontent in public for the pampering Favre is getting.

I can see how Cook could be fed up with Favre's seemingly 'open door' policy when it comes to the media.. Rightfully so.

But why in the hell would any of the Vikings be discontent about Favre? They all pretty much said he's deserved the time he's taken off. If the players aren't worried about the 'pampering' Favre is getting, why the hell should I be? If they say he deserves to not go to camp, then I'm ok with it. I can't believe that there are still people in the 'Schism' camp..

I understand what you are saying Cheesey but I would prob use a different word. I think Brett is a lot of things but not lazy. "entitled" in his opinion not doubt.

"musccy" wrote:

He admitted during this recent Chilly visit that he put on 14 pounds this offseason. What committed, devoted, ultra competitor sits on his ass for 8 months?

Favre gets his worshiped for his tenacity and desire to win, but few other NFL players get by with doing so little outside of sundays in autumn...anyone can get excited to play in front of 70,000 people, but true commitment involves the other 350 days of prep when nobody is watching.

"wpr" wrote:

Sorry I just don't see how a professional athlete of 19-20 years can be considered lazy. I do not doubt that does not work as hard as he did his first 10-15 years. No doubt he does not want to show up for all the preseason activities but it still takes a lot of effort to be in "NFL shape".

Do you have a link that shows that he gained and is still 14 pounds over his playing weight? He could have put on some weight during the winter and then started to lose it in May or June.

Not that I want to defend Favre. I think it is wrong to skip the preseason workouts. I think he is a prima donna.

wpr...it was on ESPN last night. He was joking about why he was throwing the football with the high school team because he needed to get in shape since he packed on 14 lbs since january.

I see what you're saying, but I'm involved with a sport that requires 50 weeks/year of training, and even in football, most nfl players take a month or so off, and are other wise working with specialists, personal trainers, etc. to maximize their fitness and skills all year long. Favre comes off as someone who just pops up when he pleases because he still gets a rush from the games, but doesn't then doesn't want to put in all the other necessary work, which just rubs me the wrong way.

It just shows you the level of self absorbsion of Lord Favre.
This shows thatb even 'his" people know just how much Favre NEEDS constant attention.
Pretty telling, i'd say.

LeBron James was knocking Lord Favre out of the spotlight, so he had to get back in.

True, who the f'k is Lebron James to mess with Bretts spotlight. Basketball season is over. Favreball season is right around the corner, thank god

He's pissy because Favre didn't talk to reporters through him. That's what an agent does, right (besides negotiations w/ NFL teams)?

What I find funny is how everyone has a candid view into his (Favre's) brain and knows his every intentions.

"Zero2Cool" wrote:

I think that's a big part of it too. "I'm your agent, I should be told this stuff first so I can guide you into how to handle this, not some 'look at me' ESPN reporter".

There's just something about it that makes me think James flew off the handle for a reason we'll learn about later.

Here's what we know as fact: If Favre knew how to shut his yap, there wouldn't even be any comments about his "drama queen" status, correct?

"Cheesey" wrote:

But why should he have to shut his yap?

Is answering a question a sin? Are you coming back Brett? Hows your ankle Brett? Ankle feels sore, not sure if I'm coming back yet. He doesn't have to stay in seclusion just because you or anyone else wants him to. If the media, reporters or bitter/jealous fans wanna make more out of it than there really is, than thats their problem.

The fact that John Daly, Bartolo Colon, and Tony Stewart can reach the pinnacle of their sports demonstrates that physical fitness is not always the key factor in success (in some sports). The quarterback is arguably one of these situations. Although mobility certainly enhances your effectiveness, you need a strong, accurate arm above all.

Favre is lazy. Not showing up, year after year, to sweat beside his team mates is LAZINESS.
You can CALL it "perceived entitlement" or whatever you want. I call it lazy.
Seriously, i don't give a rodents rectum about what Favre does.
Of course i'm HOPING that his desire to skip the workouts that are MANDATORY for every other player cause him to lose that 'edge" he had for several years. I hope he falls flat on his face.
If he does, i bet his Viking team mates won't have such loving kind words for "his highness". The ONLY reason he got away with it in Minny last year was that they had a decent season. If he's not so great this year, watch how fast the team AND the Vikings fans turn on him.
I can't WAIT for the season to begin, so i can watch the implosion!!!
