Quarterback Aaron Rodgers was interviewed this afternoon on the "The Jim Rome Show," which was hosted today by Grant Napear, a Sacramento radio broadcaster. Rodgers was in San Diego.

Some of the subjects discussed during the 11-minute interview:

If he was going to watch the LeBron James decision show: "I really don't care too much about watching it tonight. I'm interested in where he's going, but this thing is a little out of control I think."

How long the playoff loss against Arizona sat with him: "It's not something I think about anymore to be honest with you. It was disappointing, but I've moved on and our team has moved on."

What he learned most about his own play last season: "I think the most important thing last year was I need to be consistent. I had a season that I was pretty proud of - I played 16 games and made some plays during the season. But it starts with me and my consistency really in practice every day, giving a great effort, being prepared every day because a lot of times the practice goes as the quarterback goes."

On his level of anticipation for the upcoming season: "I'm excited, I really am, about the kind of guys we got and the kind of character in our locker room. I really like the guys we brought in, as far as their ability but also their character. We got some good guys to add to the mix and we already had a solid team. I like the mix of veterans who are playing at a very high level like Charles Woodson and Donald Driver. A lot of young guys we have high expectations for, in Bryan Bulaga and B.J. Raji. Clay Matthews is coming off a great season. We have the right mix of old guys and younger guys and guys in the middle like myself, who expect to play well. We like the direction the coaching staff has taken us with Dom Capers in his second year with the defense and coach McCarthy and Joe Philbin with the offense. It's an exciting for Green Bay, but we have a tough schedule We realize it's going to be a grind starting July 29. But I know I'm working my butt off right now in San Diego, getting ready to have a great season."

If his name will be on the leaderboard Sunday morning at the celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe: "(laughs) I don't think so. Golf is something I really enjoy playing. It's probably the most frustrating sport. I've actually had a lot better year this year from the time the courses finally open in Green Bay until now. I've played as much as I possibly could. My scores have been a little better going into Tahoe. But it really doesn't mean anything once you get out there. My gallery really consists of my mom and dad and my grandparents. You still have to make the 2- and 3-footers your buddies give you. It's a great event and a great week. The people up there really take care of us and I really look forward to it every year."

About the first Monday night game of the season at Chicago (Sept. 27): "For some reason, the people who schedule the games have put us in Chicago late in the season the last few years. It has always been our coldest game of the season. So I'm excited we play them early in the season, when the weather should be a little more favorable. Jay (Cutler) and I have already talked about that game. It's nice to have a little bit of bragging rights over Jay, being he is a buddy of mine, and having beaten him twice last year. But I know he is excited about what they've got going on and what they have added to the mix with Julius Peppers and Chester (Taylor) in their backfield, with (Brian) Urlacher coming back healthy. It's going to be a tough game for us. But starting off the season with Philly (Sept. 12) and Kevin Kolb, and being a fan of his and seeing him kind of come up the way I did, waiting his turn and now getting his opportunity. That is going to be a tough game for us. Then playing a rejuvenated Buffalo team at home. There is no easy week in the season. We are just going to try, when we get together here in a few weeks, is get things rolling on offense and defense. Hopefully we can get a little bit of luck, stay healthy and see what happens. We are excited about the prospects of making a deep run."

dfosterf (4h) : Youtube
Zero2Cool (9h) : Packers were not selected for the 2025 Hall of Fame game.
dfosterf (11h) : PFOW Out of our division would be a good thing imo
Zero2Cool (13h) : Jameson Williams is done at 24 years old? What? He's a WR, not QB. I'm missing something here haha
wpr (13h) : Tomorrow is almost here.
packerfanoutwest (13h) : would you want him if Pack needed a back up qb?
packerfanoutwest (13h) : JW is done......stick a fork in him
Zero2Cool (15h) : You should. He goes to AFC that helps Packers.
packerfanoutwest (23-Apr) : don't care
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Lions shopping Jameson Williams?
packerfanoutwest (22-Apr) : Packers General Manager Brian Gutekunst says Green Bay’s roster can win, even without adding anyone in the draft.
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : It's a poor design. New site has SignalR like our gameday chat
wpr (22-Apr) : Ah today's Shout was very quick to post.
wpr (22-Apr) : now 3
Zero2Cool (22-Apr) : Who? What?
beast (22-Apr) : What is he supposed to say? He doesn't want players currently on the team?

wpr (19-Apr) : 5 days
beast (18-Apr) : 6 days
wpr (17-Apr) : 7 days
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
