Happy Declaration of Independence Day, everyone.

Something I wrote a couple years ago, something I consider about as good as I can write in under 1000 words: Are you celebrating?

Warning: most people prefer accenting the positive on days like today. This is not a positive piece. So if you don't want a dose of bittersweet with your brats and fireworks, do not click through.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Happy 4th to everyone!!!!! Getting ready for a day of Reds baseball and picnicking with freinds and family.

A special shout out to all the men and women in our armed forces!!!!
Thank you all for your dedication and sacrifice to protect our country!!!

My wife and I spent the day with our son. Let him grill some brats. (I gave him a few small pointers on grilling but tried not to be over bearing about it.) What a great day it was. So much better than last year.
