I can't stand Packerchatters, but this article is provocative. These injuries KILLED our season in '08, and sure as hell didn't help us in '09.

I believe that the type of field they use has been shown to decrease the number of injuries. I don't have a source to cite. The article refers to only two years. It's entirely possible we just had a string of bad luck. I wish the writer had broken down the injuries by type.

The team has also had changes within the conditioning programs and personnel, how much can also be attributed to that? That quesiton goes along with MassPackersFan with knowing what type of injuries they were.

It seems teams are paying much more attention to safer playing surfaces than in years past - remember AstroTurf? I could never understand how owners could spend hundreds of millions of dollars on players and then put them on a surface that was shown cause injuries.

In that regard, I'm happy the Packers finally got smart and covered the cement, blacktop, or whatever hard surface it was around the stadium that player kept slipping/falling on when they ran to do the Lambeau Leap.

Just answered that blog . I think the injuries are a result of several factors combined and have very little to do with turf.
