Mike and Mike on Espn Radio were discussing the fact that Fifa needs to implement some sort of instant replay for the World Cup, in light of the goal was was taken away from England this weekend.
May people emailed, tweeted, that there should not be any instant replay, citing, it would "slow down the game" and "The fact that there is a human element, is part of the game." "It will never be perfect"
1: So players flopping on the ground, and being taken off on stretchers, when they were literally not even touched, doesn't slow down the game? Bullshit.
2: The "human element" excuse is getting old. It doesn't even make any sense. YES, there will always be a human element involved in officiating ANY sport. It will NEVER be perfect. We aren't looking for perfection. We have the technology to improve the game. USE it for fuck's sake.
Picture this:
You get your pay check. It is $100 short of what it should have been. You bring it up to your boss. His response:
"Well thats just part of the job. With the human element, things will never be perfect. We could check the computer records, and correct the error, but we don''t have the time."
Humans make mistakes. Technology can correct SOME of those mistakes. USE it.
Take your "human element" excuse and shove it up your ass.
Thank you.
