Hope you come up with a great new job soon DGB.

It is tough to have to leave your kids behind. I live about 20 mins away from my Mom. (Dad too when he was alive.)

Our kids are both within a couple of hours drive. A few weeks ago I realized they both may move out of state within a few years. I hate it but I will never say so to them.

Thanks Wpr. Leaving my son is the biggest part of trying to find something local. Even if it means an hour drive to and from work it will be worth it. In a few years when he decides to move on and get a place of his own then I will look into moving.

holy moly guys - sorry to hear of everyone's employment situations. one thing i cannot imagine is being a man with ALL the responsibility on your shoulders to make it. well i kinda had that when i was a single mom but i had my farmland to fall back on so i've never really been in that situation. here's hoping everything will work out & the best decisions are made by each of you.

DGB - What would the 70 year old DGB say to you?

You know you better than I know you. But let me guess for you. I'm guessing the 70 year old DGB will say "why the **** did you stay so many years at a job you hated?"

Life is short. Enjoy it.

If you lose this job, that doesn't mean your retirement will suck. You may end up with a better one, one you actually like, and still be able to fund retirement just as well.

Well Zombie. I took the 70 year old me's advice and turned down the supervisors job. I'm taking the money and leaving. There are other designers jobs out there and I'm going to get one of them.

Cheers.
