Ok, apparently Madden 11 team ratings have been released. Link to story/ratings here.

Vikings are 88 with Favre. Packers are 87.

EDIT: Also... How did the Lions get such a bad rating?! Worse than the Bucs, Browns, Raiders and KC? IMO, they improved FAAAAR more than those 4 teams combined. But, I'm of the belief that the Lions will have really close to a .500 season, if not better.

I agree, Formo. I think the Lions will be a lot better this year than last.

EA really kills me with these ratings because the way they factor them are complete garbage.
Lions should be above all those teams because they made the biggest improvements in the off-season so far.

And for the record, Lions finish above the Bears this season.

This kind of statement bothers me a bit. How many teams do we see sign big name free agents that don't do a thing for their overall team? Fact is, we don't know how they will fit in to the grand scheme of things. No one does, until it happens. So why should a team that made a lot of changes (e.g. Seahawks) be rewarded for change? You make change because the previous was not working, meaning bad results.

I don't know how they are should be compiled. I just don't think any team should be given 'points' because they made what appears to be positive changes. The grass isn't always greener on the other side.

What are the Lions rated now? As far as I'm concerned they should have a better rating at least offensively.

You now have Stafford in his second year as QB, Calvin Johnson one of the best WR's out there, Pettigrew in his second year, Kevin Smith and Jahvid Best in the backfield. How does your team not improve this year?

Not to mention they drafted Suh. I'm not saying the Lions will be better this year even though I think they will. I'm saying their Madden rating should be better lol.

Sorry Formo. Totally forgot about this one.

There's a video out there that's been made at the E3 which shows the top 10 guys at every position. Thought I'd throw some early ratings out here. With Pastapadre.com releasing ratings, as well, we should be able to make a decent list, already.

Is anyone else getting the feeling that Josh Sitton might've stolen the Rating Czar's lunch money when he was a kid? 78 ovr? Seriously?

I feel like they're a little hard on Tramon, as well, but maybe we're just overrating him here on this site.

I believe they're still using the new fangled reduced OVR ratings system. Could be the reason. Anything around 80 is still very good.

Hmm, I would have dropped Bigby a few points and upped Burnett based on the preseason so far.

Maddens suck. Who cares about these?

Last years ratings were the final straw for me. It's like these ratings guys don't follow football at all.

According to this in-depth site Tramon was the 9th best corner in the entire league last year (of players who played 25% of the snaps or more). I don't think we are overrating him.

I also understand that this page is not the bible of football, but it's still very credible.

Thanks, Finland. I love the site, but didn't look past Woodson on the corner rankings last time I visited it.

Maybe he rated Tramon after he watched the Baltimore game? Lol.

Still, I'm more appalled by Sitton's rating than by Tramon's. They might be using their new and lower rating system again, but 78 is below average for a starter. And that makes him our 4th best player on the O-line. Clifton (84), Tauscher (83) and Spitz (80) are rated better than him, while Bulaga has the same rating.

12. Josh Sitton, G, Green Bay (78). Maddens inability to judge line play shows up in rating Sitton. Sitton was as good as any lineman in the game from Week 4-12 last year, and somehow came in behind backup Jason Spitz (80). A complete puzzler.
