Green Bay - Packers guard Daryn Colledge confirmed that he signed his restricted free-agent tender this morning and began workouts with his teammates.
"Time to go to work," Colledge said this afternoon when asked about the timing.
He had no knowledge of any trade talks involving him. Colledge would have had to sign his tender before he could be traded.
Colledge got a second-round tender from the Packers so he will be paid $1.76 million this season.
Once practices begin, Colledge will be battling to keep his starting spot. Jason Spitz, T.J. Lang and perhaps rookie Marshall Newhouse will be competing with Colledge, who has started 60 of 64 game since being a second-round pick in 2006.
The move leaves the Packers will three unsigned players: end Johnny Jolly, cornerback Tramon Williams and safety Atari Bigby. Packers begin off-season practices a week from today.
