+1 for a quality write-up, Rock. I agree, wholeheartedly.

Nice write-up, Detlev.

I was one of the people complaining that we didn't get a CB, but I understand why. The thing is, you can never have too many CBs I'm glad we got a S though.

But your write-up reminded me we do have a lot of young, up and coming talent.

I wonder if a lot of the "need a cornerback" is simply residual of the anti-Bush feeling: "if best we have at number 53 on roster is Bush, we need to improve".

The fact of the matter is Rock is right. WHen we get down to the Number 5 corner, we're going to be in trouble regardless of who it is.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

you guys are missing it ... we are going on assumptions here and in the NFL you cannot do that.

- assuming harris will be back and ready to rock (ya his my favorite db on this team and I hope he is back).

- assuming lee will be gtg and be better then what we have; 2nd round dont mean jack if he is still injured or doesnt remember how to play

- underwood; again hoping he puts on weight and gets better ...

- blackmon; again if hes back and doing well from injury; he was about average wasnt he? ie slightly better then bush

- do I need to mention any other name?

What we do know we have is woodson and tramon - but good. The rest is all hope and conjecture ... hence why many of us were looking for a CB in the draft.

I guess its wait and see ...

No Dulak we didn't miss it. We know EVERTHING is based on assumption.

We also assume Woody will be near the same great level he had last year. We assume that Williams will develop some more. We assume that Rodgers is not going to be injured. We assume, as I said, everything since we are not sitting in the meeting rooms and practice fields with the rest of the coaches, team and trainers.

You however also assume as well. You assume that if GB had drafted a CB that he would help the team out and not get injured the day after signing and so on.
None of us knows anything but we have 100 of pages of posts almost all of it is soley based on assumptions. Some work out. Some don't.

All we are saying is we assume the team will be fine without spending a draft pick on another CB and then listed the reasons why.

This has really all been answered in the above post, but on the issue of Pat Lee's injury, he was fully fit and ready to play by November so that shouldn't be an issue. We assume.

You think the influence of Harris and Woodson can reign him in and unleash his potential?

To tell you the truth I really dont know if we needed to draft a CB either - just playing 'devils advocate' in the conversation about our CB position.

I really dont have a problem with our team or its draft picks; just hoping things work out in camp and preseason so the team is gtg once we face the eagles.

I think much of what happens is; the writers/sportscasters look at who we had to bring in as the 3rd, 4th, and 5th backs last year and it wasn't a pretty sight. But they forget we have Harris(some mentioned that but questioned the injury), Lee and Blackmon coming back. Also Underwood was only a rookie and I believe can develop into a very good CB. I know he needs more weight but that will come more than likely, most players gain weight as they mature.
