Can you imagine a 40 year old going around shooting people with rocks and darts.. mental health in question? lol.

A 41-year-old Plover woman is in Portage County Jail after a blow darting spree in downtown Stevens Point Wednesday night.

Paula Wolf was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, less than an hour after four pedestrians told police they were shot with blow darts that came from a van she was driving.

Police received its first report at 9 p.m. from a 25-year-old Stevens Point woman who said she was walking in the 800 block of Crosby Avenue near Pfiffner Pioneer Park when she felt a dart hit her chest. A second victim, a 21-year-old Stevens Point man, said he was walking past Mead Park at 9:13 p.m. when he saw a van come up from behind and then felt a dart in his chest. Another victim, a 42-year-old Mosinee man, was walking in the 1300 block of Church Street when he felt a dart strike him in the back. A fourth victim was standing outside 1140 Main Street at 9:30 p.m. smoking a cigarette when a black minivan with what appeared to be a pipe sticking out the window pulled up. The victim said she felt the dart hit her, but it did not puncture her skin because she was wearing several layers of clothing.

Police pulled Wolf over at the corner of Second and Main streets at 9:30 p.m. after getting her license plate number from a victim. When they approached her van, they found a blow gun, a slingshot and a small bucket of rocks sitting on the floor of the passenger side.

Police said Wolf denied any wrongdoing but eventually admitted to shooting the pedestrians, none of whom were seriously injured, telling an officer "she liked to hear people say 'ouch'" when she hit them. She also admitted to shooting at a 22-year-old man April 16, police said.

Wolf said that she was trying to strike a group of people who were smoking outside 956 Main St. when the dart hit a window on the door of the business and broke the glass.

She also admitted to unsuccessfully breaking the windows of a Portage County squad car Wednesday by shooting rocks at the car with her slingshot, police said.

Wolf has been charged with first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Stevens Point Police Lt. Jim Dowling said the department has dealt with Wolf in the past on incidents ranging from forgery and fraud to disorderly conduct.

How do you "unsuccessfully break" something? I think the author meant to say "unsuccessfully attempting to break." We have a serious loss of wordsmithery in the journalism industry these days.

But still, blowdarts? Now that's just funny. I wonder how hard it was for the arresting officers to keep a straight face. :whipitgood:

I wasn't saying that journalists have to use big words, but to write something as patently illogical as "unsuccessfully break" in an article he's PAID to write is absurd.

I disagree with Formo. The media is dumbing down America. It's really dumb.

Use better English, and use English that actually increases one's vocabulary. The average American vocabulary sucks ass and we should be ashamed of it.

The average periodical in America is written at a 3rd- to 5th-grade level. I agree that is ridiculous. The point of reading should be to challenge, to educate, to exercise and expand the mind, not to cater to laziness.

+1 to the first person who successfully identifies the American periodical with the highest reading level.

That reminds me, I have a full set of the Harvard Classics that I got from my Dad. I remember promising him I'd read him and that was 20 years ago, and I haven't even started. Instead I spend my free time talking with you imaginary people. It's great to be an American.

How can you guys laugh at Nonstop? He is the most eccentric mofo on this forum. The guy makes me read the dictionary daily. If he could get me to pull out the good book once in a while, well there might be some hope.

+1 to Formo, and buddy you know how hard that is for me.

dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
    Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
    Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.

dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
