Not that I'm aware of, I don't think he had any experience of that during college.

Plus, I don't get why everyone is so high on this guy. He runs terrible routes, drops passes, just got injured and thus hasn't had the chance to show his skills in workouts. And his college production wasn't all that great (but he was in a run-heavy offense so that might not be a big factor). I still think he SHOULD go in the third round, but he WILL be taken late first, early second.

OK, bad example. I just looked at the depth chart and he's now the starter. But you know what I mean.

Actually zombie, I didn't know what you meant, but I get what you are saying now.

I took the term "starter" too literally; he meant more like starting caliber players. That makes much more sense.

My reading of his statement made it stick out like Big Ben's p.... ehm, well you get the idea.

I think the 4 players comment has more to do with the quality of players available in this draft(since it will likely be the last draft without a rookie wage scale) than it has to do with need or anything else. You can say the same about getting back into the 2nd round, i think a lot of people view the 1st round talent as stretching way into the 2nd this year, and i bet a lot of GMs around the league are thinking along the same lines.

But you never know with TT, you just never know so its virtually pointless to speculate on what he'll do, not that it isn't fun to do so anyway. 🙂

No rumor from Arrigo, but I thought that it'd fit in nicely here.

I'm being told ESPN's Adam Schefter spoke on SportsCenter about the Packers trading up into 9-10-11 area. No confirmation yet, though.

I think if the Packers were to trade into the top 15 people like dhazer would have a damn heart attack.

last year i was almost 100% we'd take Raji and we did. this year, i'm almost 100% that the first move is going to be a complete surprise to all of us.

and i love it.

I agree with Twinkiegorilla.

That's an interesting rumor. If it has legs, that means that Thompson has been in contact with Buffalo/Jacksonville/Denver about what they are looking for for their 1st round pick. This kind of rumor can actually hold some water for that reason. There are potential "leaks".

That's CJ Spiller, Eric Berry, Joe Haden land right there.

I would be pretty amazed if Berry is there, but if he is that would be a very sweet pick-up and have me mighty impressed with Ted.

Spiller and Haden are great, but I wouldn't mind staying at 23 and drafting BPA rather than trade up for them.

Of course Ted Thompson thinks Daryn Colledge and Jason Spitz are starters.

Oh, wait, so do most fans. Never mind.

Just have to jerk my knee every so often.

More seriously, though. I just don't get the "number of starters" argument. IMO it should never be the number of starters -- it should be the quality of starters that you get.

Rodgers is fantastic starter quality. Home run. Jennings is great starter. Triple with two men on. Collins is solid. Mike Wahle at OG was a great starter. Daryn Colledge is (I'll be optimistic today) merely a servicable starter. David Klemm was an awful starter.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
